The Role

Position Summary:

The Total Rewards Leader will be a key member of the HR leadership team and responsible for designing, implementing, and managing compensation, benefits, and wellbeing strategies and programs. This role requires a hands-on leader who can develop our Total Rewards strategy and help implement it – in our Partner (employee) owned company. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of market trends, AI-driven solutions, and data analytics to optimize total rewards programs in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

What You’ll Do and Impact:  

Benefits, Compensation and Wellbeing 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Direct Supply’s total rewards strategy, ensuring competitive pay and benefits programs. 

  • Lead health, retirement, and wellness programs to enhance Partner experience and engagement. 

  • Utilize AI and technology to optimize benefits administration, deliver data-driven insights on program effectiveness and inform future strategies and decisions. 

  • Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to enhance offerings and cost efficiency. 

  • Design and manage competitive compensation programs, ensuring market alignment through AI-driven analytics and market surveys. 

  • Lead Senior Total Rewards Associate and Benefits Program Manager and collaborate with HR Operations to ensure our Partner rewards are communicated and delivered with excellence.  

  • Partner with finance and SVP of HR to align rewards investments with HR and business objectives. 

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including 5500 filings, SARs, CMS, and policy renewals. 

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex compensation and benefits matters, liaising between Partners and vendors, when needed. 

Market Trends & Future of Work 

  • Monitor emerging trends in compensation, benefits, and wellbeing, particularly in the age of AI, automation, and the future of work. 

  • Proactively adjust programs to maintain a competitive edge in talent attraction and retention. 

  • Ensure compliance with evolving labor laws, benefits regulations, and pay transparency mandates. 

Technology & AI 

  • Drive automation and efficiency in rewards administration through HR technology and AI solutions. 

  • Utilize workforce data insights to optimize rewards strategies and improve business outcomes. 

Collaboration & Communication 

  • Fully engage as a collaborative and solution-oriented member of the HR Leadership team; support HR department initiatives 

  • Partner with business leaders to align total rewards strategies with broader HR and business goals. 

  • Effectively communicate compensation and benefits programs to Partners, ensuring understanding and inspiring top performance. 

  • Lead change management efforts related to total rewards initiatives and transformation. 

   

What you’ll bring: 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HR, or related field 

Experience: 

  • 7+ years in compensation and benefits administration, implementation, analysis, and compliance 

  • 3+ years cultivating high performing teams and developing team members to meet future business needs 

  • Knowledge of self-funded medical plans and 401(k) plans 

  • Track record of designing efficient compensation and benefit programs for a highly technical workforce to motivate and reward exceptional performance 

  • Strong working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, IRS regulations, etc. 

 

Leadership: 

  • Proven experience reimagining the Total Rewards function (or parts of it) significantly improving workflows and productivity through AI and technology 

  • Excellent stakeholder management, data storytelling, and strategic problem-solving skills 

  • Deep knowledge of market trends, legal compliance, and workforce wellbeing strategies 

  • Ability to lead and deliver multiple complex projects simultaneously  

 

Technology & Data: 

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS, AI-driven compensation tools, benefits platforms, and analytics. 

  • Proficiency analyzing, interpreting and summarizing complex data, preparing reports, and making recommendations to leadership
