We are seeking a highly skilled Project/Delivery Manager to lead complex, client facing Data Center infrastructure initiatives. In this visible and critical role, you will manage end to end migration engagements by mobilizing cross functional teams, designing customer centric solutions, and ensuring seamless, agile execution. You will drive planning, coordination, and delivery across multiple functional areas while advocating for customers and delivering high quality migration outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, and deliver highly complex and fluid Data Center migration projects involving multiple teams and critical path deliverables
  • Drive project execution including planning, tracking, reporting, reviews, quality management, communications, risks, and issues
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs, partnering with technical teams to design appropriate migration solutions
  • Manage project schedules, resource allocations, delivery commitments, and cost estimates
  • Organize and consolidate project information, keeping documentation updated and accessible
  • Delegate activities, integrate cross team dependencies, and resolve conflicts in a fast moving environment
  • Complete assigned projects within budget and schedule requirements
  • Provide leadership in guiding solutions toward standardized infrastructure patterns and best practices
  • Partner with customers and Finance to represent financial and cost optimization components of migration initiatives
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex issues, helping remove blockers and identify alternative solutions
  • Influence senior leadership regarding new ideas, approaches, and improvements
  • Utilize GenAI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, automate tasks, and support data driven decision making
  • Apply AI user personas in project planning, risk assessment, and communication strategies
  • Engage with executive sponsors and senior technology leaders through presentations and ongoing collaboration
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiencies and customer experience
  • Promote a one team culture across DCIO/Data Center Migration and broader Optum Technology teams
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of Delivery Manager / Project Manager experience across infrastructure integrations and migrations (including public/private cloud solutions)
  • 8+ years of experience across multiple information systems disciplines with solid technical acumen
  • 6+ years of Data Center infrastructure and technology program delivery experience in a large enterprise
  • Experience using GenAI tools for project productivity and reporting improvements
  • Demonstrated experience with budget tracking and cost benefit analysis
  • Proficiency with MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Smartsheets
  • Proven solid planning skills with experience leading major projects using structured methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent, complex IT initiatives
  • Proven solid executive level communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and effectively
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, escalate appropriately, and resolve complex issues
  • Proven excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven adaptive, self driven, collaborative, and able to perform under pressure
  • Proven solid leadership presence, including experience working with cross functional agile teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies such as VMware, servers, networks, firewalls, and data center components (application, middleware, database, web environments)
  • Experience with large scale migration programs
  • UnitedHealth Group or Optum experience
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience using AI/GenAI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and M365 Copilot
  • Familiarity with tools like Rally, Smartsheets, and ServiceNow
  • Healthcare technology background (e.g., EMR/Imaging, Contact Center platforms)
  • Professional Services or senior project management background
