Accountabilities Major Activities Lead commissioning of new projects from time handed over by the construction team  to achieve Commissioning Certificate from SECI or relevant regulatory bodies and stabilization of O & M .
  • Prepare step by step procedure / SOP for various steps involved from completing construction to getting commissioning certificate from SECI in line to the requirements of the grid code & WRLDC /NRLDC /other regulatory authorities.
  • Interact with OEM / EPC contractor & WRLDC/NRLDC to complete the trail run operation in the slot awarded to Apraava.
  • WTGs/ Solar plant to be kept ready with trail run done before the actual trail run with the regulators to ensure we complete in the stipulated time.
  • All parameters / calculations / spread sheets to be kept ready as per the grid code.
  • Coordinate all the testing related to the plant commissioning as per the stipulated timelines ( eg. Power Plant Controller (PPC) and Capacitor Bank / Static Var Generator ) under test conditions with OEM and prepare report in line to the CEA guidelines. 
  • Lead the meeting with the regulators & responses from time to time based on the queries from them.
  • Represent Apraava at the central level with regards to any meeting set up by regulators / CEA/CERC/ state discom related to the RE projects.
  • Responsible to ensure the projects agreed with regulators are completed within the timelines as agreed or given in undertaking.
  • Technical justification / techno commercial proposal with identification of service providers or equipment related to the compliance requirement. 
  • All communication with regulators & interaction with them.
Ensure all requirements related to operation are included in  new greenfield projects during construction
  • Drive AM inputs for greenfield / acquisition projects - cost estimates, review of technical documents , contract documents
  • Actively participate in the discussion with the cross functional teams / OEMs / developers and include regulatory requirements from O & M perspective into the project scope. 
  • Optimize Asset Management cost by putting various strategies & innovation, approach adopted by other IPP’s and market intelligence. 
  • Organize site visits for due diligence for M&A /  Greenfield projects,  using DD checklist , inspection reports & presenting to the Sr Management.
  • Reviewing technical documents received for greenfield & M & A  project and identify gaps based on the O&M experience,  for considering into the project cost.
  • Ensure punch points , technical open points in construction / acquisition project are raised timely and followed up with the EPC contractor / seller for closure of the points.
  • Role out of Apraava O & M procedures and HSSE guidelines for acquisition project. 
  • Organize OMS contract document for greenfield and M&A projects  for initiating action to invite competitive bids for finalization of Comprehensive O & M contract. 
  • Take over of project construction , operation & engineering documents of the newly acquired project.
  • Deploy new team to handle the O & M of the asset, provide operation & HSSE training  & stabilize O & M team at site.
Technical support for  RE  greenfield ISTS connected projects for requirement related to grid compliance  as per requirement of WRLDC , NRLDC in the stipulated / agreed timelines
  • Ensure operation are aligned with the requirements of the grid code & changes from time to time are incorporated in the new or existing projects. 
  • Provide strategic and technical advice on various upcoming reforms & their applicability to our renewable business.
  • Review the regulations released from DISCOMS/ SLDCs/RERCs/CEA and identify gaps with the approved regulations or orders and put up recommendations to the regulatory bodies for acceptance.
  • Handle all communications related to regulatory compliance, new regulations etc related to renewable function.
This position will  also support technical matters and improvements measures for reliability & generation improvement related to existing RE portfolio also
  • Identify areas for improvement in operating plants & suggest improvements in the plant to increase the safety , reliability & performance of the plant.
  • Schedule regular meetings with the performance team and ensure issues  identified by them is quickly resolved / rectified.
  • Prepare Capex justification proposals based on the budget available in the system.
  • Ensure electricity  evacuated at the POI ( Point of Intersection ) & auxiliary power consumption of the plants are well within the agreed design nos.
  • Review suggestions from site team/ OEMs for technical improvement & verify the same by doing detailed engineering and provide clearance for execution.
  • All site testing results of the annual testing on critical components to be maintained, so that healthy ness of equipment can be ensured. 
  • Development of Performance Analytics platform to ensure seamless transfer of data from Prescinto to Dashboard. 
Technical trainings & competency building within the team.
  • Prepare a SOP for the training & competency building within the organization. 
  • Lead the competency matrix preparation for all employees within the organization. 
  • Identify technical & soft skills training required for the team
  • Shortlist training partner who can conduct these training on annual calender basis at site or corporate.
  • Prepare training modules for GETs & review with them on regular monthly basis
  • Carry out competency test for the trained employees on regular basis to monitor their growth.
  • Arrange refresher technical training for the employees on regular basis.
Provide strategic and technical advice on various upcoming reforms & their applicability to our renewable business
  • Review the regulations / tariff order released from DISCOMS/ SLDCs/SERCs/CEA/CERC and identify gaps with the approved regulations or orders. 
  • Provide advice on legal , technical , commercial , financial & scientific restraints and requirements. 
  • Prepare responses to the orders released by government authorities with review from legal and send out communication to the government authorities for consideration. 
  • Work closely with regulatory & legal to understand the implication of the regulation.
  • Collect information from other wind or solar & BESS developers / OEMs / IPPs on their views on the regulation and understand actions being taken at their end
Reporting & presentations
  • Reporting daily status of plant commissioning to Senior Management
  • Preparing case studies / presentation for Senior Management / Board
  • Preparing ppt to represent Apraava at regulatory platforms
  • Prepare ppt for commissioning related activities & progress. 
Relationship with Internal & External stake holders

Maintain relationships with Government  bodies and facilitate periodic site visits by inspectors, environmental authorities, lenders to ensure smooth takeover of projects

  • Maintain good relationship with all the other IPPs/ OEMs/Regulatory bodies WRLDC/NRLDC/ DISCOMS/SLDCs/CEA/    etc to seek their support for smooth O & M of the RE function and implementation of change in rules / regulations.
