About This Role
The Senior Manager, Software engineering – Technical Solutions is a gifted people leader, technically strong and a change-agent. Responsible of the Engineering technical expertise and system architecture, this individual connects CAE’s business needs to the CAE product and ensures operational excellence using management best practices.
Responsibilities and Main Activities:
- Responsible of the Engineering Technical Solutions during Bids & Proposals and Project design phases, in support of the Lead to Award process.
- Support the organisation during project execution, workforce planning, recrutement and performance management.
- Transformation of the software development practices by integrating the DevOps methodology.
- Development of a collaborative, stimulating work environment, promoting a culture of change and continuous improvement in the organization.
- Management of budgets.
- Development of a strong leadership succession plan.
- Development of a good technical talent pipeline.
- Be a leadership coach to your team.
- Development of KPI’s and scorecard to drive improvement through continuous improvement methods.
- Drive a “Design/Execute to cost” philosophy.
- Drive a proactive behavior leading to manage risks.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in all activities.
- Promotion of CAE’s transformation culture.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant technical domain (Engineering or Computer Science).
- Minimum of eight years of experience in a management position.
- Result oriented.
- Possesses a good understanding of software development best-practices and trends, and knowledgeable in Agile product development.
- Has continuous improvement DNA.
- Strong communication skills in both French and English.
- Recognizes strengths, improvement areas and potential in a team.
- Customer oriented.
- Creates strong morale and spirit in a team, shares wins and successes, and fosters open dialogue.
- Builds constructive and effective relationships with all stakeholders at CAE.
- Can comfortably deal with risk and uncertainty and can effectively drive change.

- Able to establish solid plans & deliver them on budget, schedule, and content.
