The Role

The Autonomous Vehicles (AV) team is searching for a highly motivated, highly technical Product and Program Management manager to lead and grow a rockstar team defining and building NVIDIA's self-driving software, enabling features ranging from driver assistance all the way to true hands-off, mind-off autonomous driving.

This role is responsible for core components of Nvidia's autonomous vehicle software (e.g., a portfolio of perception technology, planning technology, fusion, or mapping). This is a mixed role covering management of both technical product and program management : it requires deep understanding of the technical aspects of the components and how they relate to overall driving experience and identify the "right problems" for teams to work on. You will work with leading experts to design, prioritize and deliver solutions for these problems.

From there you will build the right processes and drive execution, supporting teams to deliver against our goals. You will be the representative for the progress of these workstreams with senior executives. Ultimately you will need to develop a high performing team which can define and deliver against the highly ambitious technology product roadmaps we are delivering on to make the future of self driving vehicles a reality.

What you'll be doing:

  • Hands on leadership of a team coordinating projects, partnering with tech leads to understand and solve complex self-driving challenges.

  • Drive and be responsible for delivery of your technology portfolios, in partnership with your engineering leader counterparts.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with teams and internal customers to deliver those roadmaps against extremely ambitious timelines and goals: build processes and frameworks to amplify team performance, communicate and resolve bottlenecks, address issues, and measure outcomes.

  • Develop a deep technical understanding of the entire stack to proactively identify areas of improvement and investment, influencing technical direction across teams

  • Clearly communicate and represent technical product status and program execution to senior executives and OEM partners.

What we need to see:

  • Driven, hands on, leader and people manager with strong skills in communication, influencing, and multi-functional team building across time zones

  • Experience managing and growing technical product or program management teams across autonomous vehicle or robotics domains.

  • Strong technical skills, including experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or related projects which involve heavily matrixed sophisticated systems

  • Creative problem solver who can handle ambiguous situations, reach consensus, and make decisions

  • Ability to think creatively, propose solutions, and resolve development issues and constraints

  • Execution focus, with experience bringing new and innovative products and technologies into reality

  • 12+ overall years of recent Product or Program Management experience and 5+ years of people management experience

  • BS/MS Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Proven track record of growing both technical product AND technical program management teams in the autonomous vehicles or robotics space.

  • Relevant domain knowledge/experience (Autonomous Driving, Robotics, ML based planning stacks, perception models, fusion or mapping technology)

  • Experience in a fast-paced AI company or Autonomous Vehicle company

  • Proven technical background in a related field, such as experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, ML engineer, or similar

  • Showing you always strive to learn new things, are motivated to solve hard problems, and that you care about the end product
