Senior Manager (Tax)

The purpose of this role will depend on whether the individual is in the Group Tax team or regional team, and the specific responsibilities. However the purpose of the role will be generally similar, being responsible for: Timely input into the appropriate tax reporting cycle (group and statutory accounts) and tax compliance processes; Working with the business on appropriate tax input; Advising on the tax implications of legal and business restructuring /reorganisations; Indirect tax input.

Job Description:

Key areas of focus and responsibilities

• The preparation and filing of Direct & Indirect tax returns, including sales and use tax, and other transactional taxes at the federal, state, and local levels.

• Review and reconcile transactional tax reports to ensure accurate filing of tax returns

• Completes use tax compliance, including proper calculation, reporting, and remittance of use tax in accordance with relevant state and local tax regulations.

• Collaborate with finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions

• Ensure compliance with various reporting and payment deadlines, and manage compliance workflows

• Assist in maintaining tax compliance calendars and schedules for various indirect taxes.

• Prepare and maintain tax documentation and working papers to support internal and external audits

• Leverage technology and other resources to capture efficiencies and technical accuracies.

• Knowledge of Tax Software like Vertex and OneSource will be essential.

• Coordination with Tax Software personnel for issues faced will filing and other software related issues.

• Assist US Tax Director in BEAT, GILTI tax liability calculation.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

1) 7 or more years of corporate US tax experience in industry and/or public accounting.

2) CA/CPA is must and/or Big 4 experience is preferred but not needed.

3) Must have team & stakeholder management skills

4) GCC or Finance Shared Service is preferred

4) Experience with tax software Onesource and thorough understanding of Federal & State Tax compliances.

5) Extensive relevant record of accomplishment working within large, complex global organisations, with proven corporate tax experience with an ability to apply their technical knowledge in a practical way.

6) Strong accounting & analytical, problem-solving skills and quantitative skills and a record of accomplishment for planning, doing and auditing work; the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making, systematically break down problems or processes into their parts and develop several alternative solutions.

7) Strong IT (Information Technology) skills (excel and accounting packages).

8) Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, while being able to discuss detailed technical aspects clearly
