We are recruiting for a ‘Senior Manager Tax Accounting Europe’ based in our European headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. You will be reporting to the Director Tax Europe. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting (ASC 740), extensive experience in a global corporate environment and a track record of success at a Big 4 accounting firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will play a critical role in managing the company's European tax accounting processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 740 standards within a fast growing US listed multinational. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in local countries and (European) HQ, both internal and external, to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to all tax regulations.

• Manage and oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual group tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740 guidelines.

• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of tax provision calculations for local financial statement audits.

• Assist in the preparation and review of tax-related disclosures for external financial reporting, including footnotes and management discussion and analysis.

• Provide expert advice on tax accounting implications of business decisions, transactions, and strategies to optimize the company's tax position.

• Oversee the integration of acquisitions into the tax accounting process and support post-acquisition accounting calculations and disclosures.

• Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company's financial statements and tax positions.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to facilitate effective communication and cooperation on tax-related matters.

• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive process improvements, optimize tax efficiency, and enhance overall financial performance.

What are we looking for?

• A Master of Tax or Accounting, combined with a minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in tax accounting with a proven track record of managing tax provisions and compliance in a global corporate setting, preferably in a US listed multinational.

• Strong expertise in ASC 740 (formerly known as FAS 109) tax accounting standards and related financial reporting requirements.

• Fluent in English.
