Senior Manager Sustainability Reporting (m/f/x)
(Fulltime / permanent / Location: Marburg, Hattersheim, Bern or Maidenhead / Haywards Heath)

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the value of CSL’s sustainability vision and its outcomes are measured and reported across CSL and with our stakeholders. Moreover, this role will be responsible for managing sustainability (ESG) reporting systems, gathering and verifying data, and producing accurate content which promotes CSL’s sustainability performance.
You will also play a leading role in the assessment of, implementation and management of business activities to support compliance with broad and far-reaching EU-based sustainability disclosure legislation.
The Role
- Follow, evaluate and implement approaches to address existing or emerging/new sustainability regulations (such as CSRD/Green Taxonomy), regulatory policy and industry practice; determine operational and business impacts and develop/ implement strategies to handle applicable/ relevant requirements
- Ensure best-practice adoption of business processes to support assurance activities working towards compliance with reasonable assurance requirements for sustainability metrics and associated qualitative statements
- Ensure CSL remains one-step ahead of incoming disclosure legislation, specifically the integration of EU-based directives at a member state level
- Drive business leader understanding and support for voluntary and mandatory disclosure requirements
- Provide project leadership, holding external subject matter experts accountable to project timelines, expenditure and deliverables
- Continuously refine and improve CSL’s systems for gathering and managing sustainability disclosure data and associated assurance activities
- Lead CSL’s enterprise sustainability materiality assessment
- Support business requests for advice as a technical subject matter expert on sustainability
- Establish and manage projects and priorities
- Working efficiently and collaboratively with third-parties and internal stakeholders to execute on disclosure requirements
Key Skills and Experience:
- Have 7+ years proven experience in ESG reporting/disclosure for a listed company
- Strong understanding of EU legislation and its application in a multinational organisational setting
- Practical experience working in compliance with leading practice ESG reporting standards (such as IFRS, ESRS, GRI, TCFD, SASB, CDP)
- Demonstrated experience in leading sustainability & compliance activities for large, complex organisations
- Extensive experience in management of multi-faceted relationships and diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience working in sustainability for a life-sciences company is highly desirable
- Qualifications in science, communications and/or change management is highly desirable
- Accounting/auditing experience and/or qualifications are highly desirable
- Consulting skills, including business partnership experience to deliver quality outcomes in an environment of competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills including the ability to influence and build consensus at senior management level
- Proven high level organisational and project management skills including the capacity to set priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Superior written and presentation skills
- Problem solving and research skills including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations
- Ability to develop systems and processes
- German as a second language is highly desireable
