Lets talk about the team:

Our global Supplier Engineering (SE) team is responsible for managing material and relationships between our supplier network and ResMed. The team has two primary goals, the first is to be the interface to suppliers during the development of next generation masks and devices ensuring suppliers are capable, ready, and able to scale. The second is sustain the highest quality of parts flow from suppliers and often leading complex root cause analysis to resolve issues.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading teams in addition to strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience managing external suppliers.

Role expectations: 

  • Collaborate and influence senior stakeholders both internally & externally to ensure our supplier network is capable and ready to deliver new technologies, products, and processes to meet a dynamic supply & demand environment. 

  • Leading and developing multiple teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, and anticipating challenges. Coach and mentor team and individuals aligned with business workforce capability focus areas. 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 

  • Establish KPIs, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to track and analyze deliverables. 

  • Foster collaboration between suppliers and ResMed departments (e.g., manufacturing, product development) to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives. 

  • Provide training and support to teams on best practices, tools, and processes to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement. 

  • Work closely with the finance team to develop and manage budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI. 

  • Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of new processes, tools, and initiatives within the GSA organization. 

  • Lead business critical root cause analysis and resolution activities when needed to correct supplier quality issues. 

  • Drive a strong culture of quality through continuous improvement and other best practice quality management strategies across the teams.  

  • Provide technical leadership, support and guidance to team – upholding relevant technical and quality standards through review activities.  

  • Provide feedback, guidance, and support to develop suppliers to close identified gaps, develop further capability. 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Key to being successful in this role is having foundational technical skills along with a dynamic, engaging approach to connect with a diverse team and deliver real business value. 

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience) 

  • 8+ years of technical experience in managing a complex NPI & BAU business environment. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing & growing teams. 

  • Proven talent in the space of new product delivery, technology development, process innovation or category innovation with external suppliers. 

  • Stakeholder management skills that span all levels of the supplier and ResMed business  

  • Strong influencing and conflict management skills  

 

Preference will be given to candidates with the following experience and skill set: 

  • Experience in Test System development and/or EMS management. 

  • Experience of procurement and supplier development in a regulated industry – medical devices, automotive, aerospace. 

  • Project management methods and techniques 

  • 5+ years of experience within a Manufacturing, Process or Quality environment 

  • Training & experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kepner-Tregoe and APQP tools & methodologies.
