Reuters Professional is seeking an innovative and results-driven Senior Manager, Subscriptions Strategy, to spearhead our global subscriber acquisition and retention initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director of Subscriptions, you will be instrumental in driving substantial growth across all stages of the user funnel.
Your responsibilities will span engagement, onsite growth and optimization, media strategy, conversion rate optimization, and paywall strategy. You will translate complex performance data and business objectives into clear, actionable strategic roadmaps, working closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Analytics and Finance to achieve ambitious subscription goals.
Your expertise will be crucial in driving subscriptions revenue through subscriber acquisition, conversion, and retention across Reuters platforms, including our mobile app and website.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Senior Manager, Subscriptions Strategy, you will:
- Lead and execute a comprehensive strategy driving full-funnel optimization across engagement, subscriber acquisition, and retention in both domestic and international markets.
- Collaborate with product, and design teams to optimize landing pages, funnels, and user experience to increase conversion rates.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to develop and implement a robust A/B testing roadmap aimed at optimizing acquisition growth and customer engagement.
- Partner with Product and outside partners to enhance and optimize a user's onsite experience, leading with an audience-first approach utilizing dynamic strategies.
- Oversee marketing processes, timelines, and creative development, delivering strategic objectives.
- Lead the launch of digital marketing campaigns across various channels (email, app, onsite), in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Execute strategic acquisition efforts informed by data, defining customer cohorts to guide marketing and product.
- Continuously analyze and report on campaign performance data, identifying trends to provide actionable insights that inform ongoing optimization.
- Ensure we are clearly articulating our value proposition to users and subscribers throughout the subscriptions journey.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Senior Manager, Subscriptions Strategy, if your background includes:
- 8+ years of experience in digital acquisition or performance marketing, ideally within a subscription-based business. Experience within a news/content environment managing paywall strategy.
- Ability to use data to inform decisions with experience analyzing customer journeys, using attribution models, and optimizing acquisition funnels.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to build strategy roadmaps tied to data and growth with a detailed approach.
- Ability to think long-term while executing short-term acquisition goals.
- Deep understanding of customer acquisition funnels, user behavior, and subscription models with a passion for the Reuters consumer.
- Ability to thrive in a matrix organization, collaborating effectively across teams to achieve shared goals.
- Strong communication skills and copywriting skills and experience.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $112,400 - $208,800. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
