Position Summary:
This role will provide strategic finance support to our Corporate & Business Development team. The position requires strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Collaborating with functions across the company will be critical to success.
*This person must reside in San Diego or be able to relocate (relocation assistance offered).
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct finance support for the Corporate & Business Development team
- Lead M&A and integration related activities, including target identification, due diligence, financial analysis and valuation
- Collaborate on key projects between corporate development, finance, accounting and other vested parties to ensure tight coordination and communication
- Conduct periodic reviews and post-mortem analysis on our investment portfolio and prior deals
- Acquire intense understanding of Illumina’s business today, and critical insights into where it is going in the future allowing for innovative concepts and the promotion of new ideas
- Analyze, synthesize and translate data into key strategic inputs and insights that will drive decision making at the executive level
- Maximize long-term shareholder value while protecting corporate assets

Requirements:
- Typically requires 7+ years of managerial experience, preferably in a high growth environment
- 3-7 years of investment banking (or equivalent) experience required
- Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling; technical corporate finance and valuation skills a must
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to do complex scenario analysis and M&A
- models, including integration of data from Bloomberg
- Fluent knowledge of the elements and drivers of income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow
- Exceptional interpersonal soft skills and ability to establish strong rapport and partnerships at all levels of the organization and across constituencies
- Self-directed and able to work well and communicate effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrated track record of attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills
- Must be driven and highly motivated, with positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to quickly learn and acquire in-depth knowledge of new technologies and business processes while simultaneously becoming familiar with a wide range of data sources and reporting applications

The estimated base salary range for the Finance Manager/Senior Manager, Strategic/M&A Finance (Hybrid) role based in the United States of America is: $138,800 - $208,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
