Small business owners and their employees are challenged with navigating this increasingly complicated ecosystem. As the market leader in financial technology, we know that cash flow sits at the heart of what a small business does every single day. With 3500+ financial institutions in our client base, we can empower our bank partners to take back and win the SMB wallet share. Through an integration of our existing products, we are on a mission to provide the best set of solutions for a small business in market and enable our bank partners to capture this market.

What you will do:

This role has the primary responsibility of supporting the SMB market and product strategy functions in Merchant Services. The role has the potential to expand based on the performance of the individual. Expectations are high – this individual needs to develop / establish influence through partnership with internal teams. This person is highly organized, detail-oriented, drives deliverable outcomes with speed, and is open and responsive to direct feedback. The ideal candidate has an appetite for continuous learning and drive for excellence in all deliverables. We have a lot to accomplish and aggressive goals – this person will enable the team to achieve them.

Market Landscape & Trend Analysis

  • Directly support Sr. Director Market Strategy & Commercialization on developing and managing inventory of fintech / traditional providers supporting SMBs, including inventory of notes from meetings with funds, industry players, fintechs, etc.
  • Support analysis of market trends, competitive landscapes, and consumer behaviors to support product commercialization strategies – leveraging research reports, etc.
  • Conduct thorough research on industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies relevant to small business payments and other capabilities
  • Identify market opportunities, competitors, and gaps in the market that Fiserv can address
  • Analyze historical data and forecast future market trends to inform SMB positioning, including by verticals

Commercialization Enablement

  • Develop and create visually appealing slides and decks to support product commercialization efforts, leverage, and produce input into team slide template
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, insights, and information for inclusion in presentations, including Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Management Committee updates, client presentations, and sales enablement
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines; requires high emotional IQ and proactive engagement
  • Assist in the development and execution of SMB launch plans through effective communication materials
  • Provide support to teams with ad-hoc requests for data analysis, reporting, presentation prep, and event support (as needed)

Goals/KPIs: 

  • Revenue / margin for business
  • Overall impact on multiple expansion (along with Sr. Director / SVP)

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA Preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of strategy or financial analyst positions related experience in an investment banking or management consulting firm
  • Strategy experience with an emphasis on business development and partner management
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20%, primarily internal travel
  • Experience with partnership, credit operations, and delivery; with most of the experience in leadership roles, operational consulting a positive
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and Excel skills, including strategy and financial presentation development
  • Understanding and knowledge of business financial practices and accounting
  • Experience in data-driven management, metrics, and reporting
  • Ability to lead and motivate and drive cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to understand complex business concepts
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build consensus
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities to interact at all levels of the clients from C-level to technical and operation levels
  • Solid thought leadership and the ability to influence others through collaborative efforts
  • An ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of constituencies
  • Strong results orientation with demonstrated track record of success to effectively complete tactical activities

Salary Range

$120,000.00 - $198,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
