The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior SQA (Software Quality Assurance) Manager to lead the quality strategy, planning, and execution for our platform, compute, and device driver software components. This role will be responsible for ensuring that our foundational software layers meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and security across multiple product lines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, operating systems, and driver-level software, combined with proven leadership in managing QA teams and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor a team of SQA engineers focused on platform, compute, and device driver validation.
- Define and implement quality assurance strategies, processes, and metrics to ensure robust and scalable software releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product management, hardware engineering, and customer support) to align QA priorities with product goals.
- Quality Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks for platform and driver-level software.
- Ensure coverage for functional, performance, stress, compatibility, and security testing.
- Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Technical Oversight
- Provide technical guidance on embedded OS, compute frameworks, and device driver architecture to the QA team.
- Oversee integration testing across multiple hardware platforms and operating environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality benchmarks.
- Process & Reporting
- Establish and track KPIs for software quality, defect density, and release readiness.
- Report quality status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior management.
- Champion automation and CI/CD integration for QA workflows.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems, operating systems (RTOS, Linux), and device driver development.
- Experience with test automation frameworks, scripting languages (Python, Shell), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software in complex, multi-platform environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in IoT platforms, wireless protocols, and security testing.
- Familiarity with hardware bring-up and board support packages (BSP).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and certification processes.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
