Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Specialty Commercial Strategy & Effectiveness, will lead the development and execution of differentiated category strategies that unlock incremental value across Sysco’s Specialty companies. This role will focus on expanding complementary categories beyond the core business, partnering closely with Specialty Merchandising & Site teams, USBL Merchandising, and other key stakeholders. This leader will also design, pilot, and scale commercial platforms that drive profitable growth and enhance the Specialty customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and prioritize key category growth opportunities across Specialty businesses, with a focus on complementary categories that enhance the core assortment.
- Develop tailored assortment strategies by business and category, leveraging data insights, field and sales feedback, and local market dynamics.
- Collaborate closely with Specialty Merchandising teams to build (if needed) and deploy non-core/common assortment strategies and tools that support consistent, scalable local execution.
- Design, launch, and manage cross-category commercial programs and pilots from end to end—strategy development through post-launch measurement and iteration.
- Partner with Specialty Sales, Sales Enablement, Marketing, and Pricing teams to ensure seamless field execution and enablement.
- Work closely with GSC Merchandising teams to leverage buying synergies, improve cost competitiveness, and align on vendor strategies.
- Develop and implement KPIs and reporting tools to track program impact and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Drive change management and communication plans that support adoption of new programs and strategies across a decentralized Specialty network.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement aligned with Sysco’s Specialty goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, commercial strategy, or a related field.
- Experience influencing cross- functional teams and managing change in decentralized teams without direct authority
- Demonstrated success launching and scaling strategic initiatives within large, complex organizations.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
