Senior Manager, Software Engineering in Test

The Senior Manager, for Software Engineering in Test is responsible for managing a group of engineers to test our robotics control systems. In this role, you will coordinate testing for the functional areas, mentor junior engineers, and report on product quality. To be successful in this role, you will be relentless in finding ways to improve our processes and increase development efficiency. You should have very strong system design and testing skills and excellent coding skills.
What you'll work on:
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test plans for new functionality in testing our robotics software
- Develop efficient test strategies for the different systems making up the product
- Develop and execute automated and manual smoke, regression, functional, and acceptance tests
- Report defects and investigate/debug failures
- Identify trends in failures and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence of failures
- Drive process improvements to improve efficiency in software testing
- Occasionally travel to the production or test sites to assist with testing activities
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of experience leading a team of Software Quality Engineers
- Must have a solid understanding and ability to develop code in Python or other mainstream language
- Hands-on experience with Unix-based systems is required
- Experience with tools and applications such as JIRA, Confluence, Git,
Artifactory and dependency management tools like Poetry/Maven/Gradle - Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to analyze complex problems in large systems
- Must be a detail-oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with a passion for quality and test automation
- Bachelors in Robotics, Computer or Electrical Engineering plus 10 years of professional experience OR
- Masters in Robotics, Computer or Electrical Engineering and 8 years of professional experience in software testing
