POSITION SUMMARY\
We're on a mission to reinvent the financial system and make it work for people. We seek an experienced professional to lead a full-stack engineering team comprising backend and mobile engineers. This position is based in our Palo Alto HQ and will require hybrid work with in-office days 2+ days a week.
Our current team is composed mainly of experienced senior engineers who are excellent mentors. Many have worked in elite tech giants such as Meta, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google, Uber, Dropbox, etc. As a Senior Engineering Manager for our Growth team, you will lead initiatives that drive business growth, collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, and contribute to the design and development of our backend services and mobile applications.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $252,000 - $308,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Come make a difference with us and have fun doing it!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work with the leadership across Earnin to deliver our mission promise: build a financial system that works for people.
- Be a strong partner to product and marketing teams to drive growth, customer acquisition, and engagement.
- Create the road map and drive its implementation with your team and the dependencies across the company.
- Recruit other great engineers for your team and help in talent aquisition efforts for different teams.
- Be the mentor and coach for the engineers on your team. Help them advance their careers and do the best work of their lives.
- Provide technical leadership to developers in your team and across the engineering organization.
- Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality service levels.
- Support the team in maintaining a robust level of stability while continuing to execute at great speed.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives at Earnin.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of development experience in Software Engineering, with multiple years of experience managing larger engineering teams and other managers
- Have managed teams that regularly create high-quality output on top of critical infrastructure.
- Well-versed in modern software development and architecture practices for full-stack web development and microservices.
- Have the ability to work comfortably with a cross-functional team of PMs, Analysts, backend and mobile engineers, and designers.
- Create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work.
- Able to do direct technical work as needed to support the team
