As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Risk organization, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- The role requires strong hands-on engineering skills, deep expertise with Kubernetes platforms and PySpark, and strong modern DevSecOps practices. It also requires proficiency with GenAI developer toolsets (including agentic AI solutions) to accelerate coding, test creation, refactoring, troubleshooting, and documentation, while adhering to secure coding standards and responsible-use controls in an enterprise environment.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- Lead end-to-end delivery of secure, scalable cloud-native services and data pipelines; own design, development, and production stability.
- Hands-on development and code review in Python and Pyspark and/or Java; scripting (Shell); strong SQL and database fundamentals.
- Build and optimize analytical workloads on Kubernetes and Databricks platforms, help optimize infrastructure requirements, and ensure performance, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Implement and improve CI/CD, resiliency, observability, and security controls; automate remediation of recurring issues.
- Strong practical experience with Kubernetes and Terraform (IaC), agile delivery, and technical leadership across internal teams and vendors; 13+ years experience.
- People management experience is required, as this role will oversee deliverables and coach associates in Hyderabad.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability and advanced in one or more programming language
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight and practical cloud native experience
Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Updated certification is preferred in relevant skill
