You'll own how work gets delivered - improving predictability, release quality, and engineering efficiency - while coaching and developing engineers to do the best work of their careers. You'll have the autonomy to raise the bar, the support to make meaningful changes, and the visibility to see your impact across the company.
If you're excited by solving complex delivery problems, growing strong leaders, and building systems that help teams move faster, this is a place where your leadership will matter.
What You'll Be Doing:
Driving high quality software delivery
- Lead engineering teams to deliver predictably excellent work.
- Foster strong engineering practices and provide engineers and senior management early feedback.
- Help your team to strike the right balance between new initiatives, production issues and customer-reported problems.
Growing teams and leaders by example
- Coach engineers to strengthen execution, ownership, and accountability.
- Actively develop under performing engineers through clear expectations, feedback, and support-and take decisive action when improvement doesn't materialize.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and high standards.
Improving efficiency and leverage
- Help engineers increase efficiency by pointing out opportunities for automation, better tooling, and effective use of AI.
- Identify and remove technical and process friction that slows teams down.
- Focus on outcomes over ceremony, ensuring processes support delivery rather than hinder it.
Providing technical leadership
- Maintain technical fluency to earn trust, guide decisions, and ask the right questions.
- Occasionally partner with engineers to unblock complex problems while staying focused on team-level performance.
- Provide leadership across a modern stack that includes React, .NET, and a growing Python ecosystem.
Partnering across the organization
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design and other leaders to ensure engineering execution aligns with user and customer needs.
- Surface risks early, communicate clearly, and take ownership of resolving challenges.
- Be seen as a leader who breaks through obstacles and facilitates getting things done.
Who You Are:
- An experienced engineering leader with a track record of improving delivery predictability and execution.
- A strong people leader who develops managers and engineers, addresses performance issues directly, and raises the bar for the entire team.
- Technically credible, with experience in modern web and back end systems (experience in any of React, .NET, or Python is a plus).
- Outcome-driven, pragmatic, and focused on measurable improvement rather than process for process' sake.
- Comfortable leading through influence, accountability, and clear expectations.
- Proactive, decisive, and willing to challenge the status quo in pursuit of better results.

What We Do
Leading a successful professional service firm is an art. Running a profitable firm is a business. We understand this because our founder ran an IT Consulting firm for over 15 years. He grappled with the same challenges that professional service firm owners face today.
How do I know what my employees are working on? How can I connect time and expenses to clients or projects for billing? What resources do I have available? How can I see relevant reports on the firm’s performance? The list goes on.
The problems our founder faced drove the development of an AI-powered professional services automation platform specific to the needs of operational and financial leaders in professional services firms. We know that time tracking is more than timesheets. Time is information. We connect time with every part of your firm’s workflow so that all of the data you’ve collected with BigTime is the basis for metrics-driven reporting that informs your decisions. We live by our founder’s purpose - to help professional service firms combine the art of leadership with the business of being profitable.
