Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Cloud Software Application Delivery is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of cloud-based software applications. This role partners closely with product management, engineering, architecture, security, and operations teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-quality cloud solutions are delivered on time and within budget. The role combines technical leadership, people management, and delivery excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery & Execution- Lead the delivery of complex cloud software applications across multiple agile teams from planning thru' deployment and post release support
- Own delivery timelines, milestones, risks, and dependencies across initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in cloud-native development, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Lead large‑scale, complex application delivery programs across multiple teams and geographies.
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, and technical debt.
- Provide leadership in cloud application architecture, design, and delivery (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Partner with architects and engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and resilient.
- Oversee application performance, reliability, and production readiness.
- Provide technical oversight for cloud‑native architectures, frontend UIs, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Champion adoption of AI tools, observability and automation best practices
- Ensure applications meet security, compliance, performance, and reliability standards.
- Manage, mentor, and develop engineering managers, delivery managers, or technical leads.
- Set clear goals, conduct performance management, succession planning, provide regular feedback, and support career development.
- Foster high‑performing, diverse teams with a strong culture of inclusiveness, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Promote agile and product‑centric mindsets across teams.
- Act as a key point of contact for product, business, and executive stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into delivery plans and execution strategies.
- Communicate delivery status, risks, and outcomes clearly to leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and engineering effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Proactively identify delivery risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and vendor management as needed.
** Ideal candidate can work remote/hybrid from one of our Digital office locations in the US , however work in CST/EST time zone**
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering and application delivery.
- 5+ years experience working as a full stack software engineer with Java and front end tech (such as Angular, React or equivalent), microservices, APIs, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- 4+ years of experience managing managers or leading large, distributed delivery teams.
- 3+ years of experience in managing delivery of applications in a product model.
- 3+ years of experience delivering cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
- 3+ years of solid understanding of & hands on experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience with Big Query , Spanner or similar databases
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Proven experience delivering cloud‑based, enterprise‑scale software applications.
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) a plus.
- Background in enterprise-scale cloud transformations.
- Strong business acumen and executive communication skills.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
