Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Senior Manager, Search Engine Optimization in the Marketing, Loyalty & Communications Division. The Paid Media and Digital Marketing team is responsible for driving performance and acquisition across all digital touchpoints. As a key member of this team, you will lead our SEO efforts, driving organic traffic growth, optimizing local listings for 7,500+ properties, and enhancing overall visibility across ChoiceHotels.com and related digital assets.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the SEO team in executing day-to-day strategy, technical optimizations, and performance reporting across ChoiceHotels.com and franchisee listings.

  • Oversee and evolve a comprehensive SEO roadmap including testing plans, keyword strategy, technical audits, and content recommendations.

  • Manage the relationship with local listings vendors, ensuring data accuracy across major platforms and leading franchisee education programs.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Paid Media, eCommerce, Analytics, Content, and Technology teams to drive enterprise-wide SEO alignment and improvements.

  • Stay current on industry trends and algorithm updates, translating insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Own SEO testing and measurement plans; identify, advocate for, and implement new tools and technology as needed.

  • Create compelling presentations and business cases that communicate SEO value and performance to internal stakeholders.

  • Provide mentorship and development support to a team of four direct reports, fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and innovation.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Technology or related field required.

  • 6+ years of Search Engine Optimization experience, including 3+ years of team leadership.

  • Proven expertise in technical and qualitative SEO, including crawlability, keyword research, content audits, competitive analysis, and conversion strategies.

  • Experience with SEO tools such as BrightEdge, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and Adobe Analytics.

  • Skilled in synthesizing data into actionable insights, with dashboarding capabilities (e.g., Tableau, Data Studio) a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Your Team

This is a leadership role that will report to the Senior Director, Paid Media & Digital Marketing. You will have 3 direct reports and collaborate with cross-functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our Senior Manager, Search Engine Optimization, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, AZ. In October 2021, Choice opened a newly constructed world class technology center.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $121,393 to $ 142,637 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).

The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
