Senior Manager of Sales Strategy and Operations
Massillon, OH (Hybrid schedule)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Sales Strategy and Operations to lead key initiatives across sales strategy, forecasting, budgeting, trade spend management, and sales activity tracking. This role is integral to driving Commercial Excellence and ensuring alignment between sales, demand planning, finance, and other cross-functional teams. The Senior Manager will design and implement operational tools and processes to optimize sales performance and accountability. This position requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Your Seat at the Table:
- Develops sales strategy using data, technology, and structure to improve the sales process to efficiently and effectively meet customer and organizational goals.
- Lead the sales forecasting process, supporting accurate and timely sales forecasts that inform procurement and operations planning. Collaborate closely with sales leadership and demand planning to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead the Commercial Team in the annual budgeting process, developing tools and process as needed. Monitor performance against budget and drive accountability across sales teams.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining the Sales Activity strategy and insights, which includes white space analysis, risks and opportunities tracking, and sales engagement. Support sales teams in developing strategy and providing leadership with insights to drive performance improvements.
- Work with the demand planning team to develop and maintain sales capacity models. Identify opportunities for sales growth while protecting supply for current and future demand.
- Centralize and oversee the management of trade spend planning. Implement systems to measure return on investment and optimize trade spend.
- Collaborate with legal and sales teams to manage the contract renewal process, ensuring that timelines are met and that the organization’s interests are protected.
- Oversee the bid cycle process, ensuring organizational readiness to respond to bids, win new business, and retain existing customers. Support the development of competitive strategies and pricing models.
- Develop and manage commercial scorecards to track and communicate the status of key initiatives, providing transparency across teams and leadership.
- Manage the ROI process to evaluate and report on key projects to ensure that projects meet business objectives and deliver value.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales operations, strategy, or commercial management roles, with a proven track record of driving results.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, finance, legal, demand planning, and other teams.
- Proficiency in sales operations tools, CRM systems, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present data and recommendations to senior leadership.
