About the Role

FTI Consulting, Inc.’s Risk& Compliance Department is seeking a Senior Manager/Director of Compliance -- Americas to oversee the Company’s risk, compliance and ethics programs in the Company’s North American and Latin America regions. This position is located in Washington, DC.

What You'll Do

The position reports to the Global Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (CRCO).  The job involves working with the CRCO to design, develop and direct FTI Consulting’s Compliance function in the Americas as well as related compliance initiatives that apply on an enterprise-wide basis.  This includes providing leadership, oversight and expert advice to ensure appropriate development, interpretation, and implementation of compliance strategies, policies and programs. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Collaborating with business units and corporate staff at all levels to provide subject matter expertise, advice and guidance on ad hoc issues and also strategic initiatives.

  • Working with business units to evaluate compliance and reputational risk associated with lines of business or specific client engagements.

  • Working with the global Risk & Compliance team on compliance programs related to specific legal requirements such as Anti-bribery laws, Anti-money laundering laws, Insider trading laws, Privacy compliance, and other regulatory compliance initiatives.

  • Close cooperation with the global Risk & Compliance team on international compliance initiatives.

  • Facilitating the implementation of FTI Consulting’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct in the Americas and ensuring employees understand and adhere to the Code.

  • Overseeing investigations of complaints in the Americas brought forward by employees or other third parties, including whistleblower reports and complaints regarding unethical behavior.

  • Tracking Code of Conduct inquiries and allegations.

  • Working with the CRCO to coordinate and conduct compliance and ethics training for employees in the Americas.

  • This position will be involved in the day-to-day running of FTI Consulting’s international sanctions compliance program, including the assessment and resolution of potential sanctions issues.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree 

  • 10+ years’ experience in Risk & Compliance with 5+ years in a senior/leadership role. 

  • Experience in a multinational entity with significant international operations and experience in the professional services industry is a plus (although we will consider a candidate outside of this who can demonstrate that they have the experience required for the role). 

  • Broad experience in a number of different risk & compliance topics, including but not limited a good working knowledge of sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, anti-fraud and insider trading laws, the analysis and operationalization of new laws, analysis of various risks and mitigation thereof as and when they arise.

  • Extensive knowledge of standards of ethical conduct and related programs applicable to organizations.  

  • This role requires travel to FTI offices as needed.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD preferred

  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrable ability to deal with senior stakeholders. 

  • Knowledge of the conduct of investigations, including evidence gathering and case management .

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, US broker dealer laws, ITAR, and/or US security clearance programs. 

  • Experience in the risk assessment and use of AI systems is a bonus.

  • Experience in the implantation of new systems is a bonus.

  • Ability to weigh risks against operational needs to develop reasoned recommendations, including risk mitigation strategies, and provide sound compliance advice

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $128,000
Maximum Pay: $212,500
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
