If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.

How you’ll make an impact

Join a business in growth phase. Our wrap platform has been built for advisers, by advisers. It allows them to manage investments on our competitive and innovative offering. This role is your chance to be a part of the growth by driving innovation, client experience, and efficiency to help more Australians achieve their wealth goals.

The Senior Manager Risk, Compliance & Controls supports sustainable business performance by reducing regulatory and operational risk, limiting the likelihood and impact of incidents, breaches and remediation. By providing clear advice, oversight and insight, the role helps the Platforms business operate within risk appetite, meet regulatory obligations efficiently, and maintain confidence with regulators, boards and customers while executing the strategy.

Main areas of responsibility;

Risk and compliance oversight

  • Provide senior risk and compliance support to the Platforms business to ensure material risks are identified, understood and managed within appetite, and regulatory obligations are met through effective and evidenced controls.
  • Advise and challenge senior business and process owners on risk and compliance matters to ensure positions are accurate, defensible and aligned to risk appetite.
  • Monitor risk and compliance performance across the Platforms business, including KRIs, compliance metrics, incidents, breaches and emerging risks, and identify areas requiring action.

Insight, reporting and decision support

  • Analyse risk and compliance information to identify material themes, trends and issues, and support targeted improvements.
  • Prepare and present clear, insight‑focused reporting to executive risk forums, the Board and risk committees to support informed decision‑making.
  • Plan and lead targeted deep dives into material risk or compliance topics to assess control effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

Change, compliance and regulatory engagement

  • Develop, maintain and oversee compliance plans, including Managed Investment Scheme and superannuation compliance plans.
  • Perform and oversee risk and compliance assessments to support business change, including project, delivered, privacy and regulatory change impact assessments.
  • Prepare compliance assessments for risk events and breaches, including breach summaries and regulatory notifications.
  • Support the SPS 220 Risk Management Declaration process.

Customer outcomes and business enablement

  • Support business owners in managing critical operational processes and business continuity arrangements to deliver reliable, compliant outcomes for customers.
  • Support the Head of Risk & Compliance, Platforms to develop and embed practical risk and compliance frameworks, policies, tools and guidance.
  • Enable uplift in risk capability and culture through workshops, training and effective use of risk systems, dashboards and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across AMP Group, including Legal, Enterprise Risk, Product, Operations, Investments and Incidents and Remediation teams

What you will bring to the team

Ideally, you will bring the following experiences to this role:

  • 5+ years’ experience in risk or compliance roles within financial services, preferably across superannuation, wrap platforms and/or managed investments.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Commerce, Business or Law), or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience managing compliance incidents, breaches and issues, including breach assessment, root cause analysis and preparation of regulatory notifications and responses.
  • Proven experience developing and managing compliance plans for Superannuation Trustees, Responsible Entities and/or AFSL holders.
  • Proven experience preparing and presenting risk and compliance reporting to Boards, Board Risk Committees and senior management forums.
  • Proven experience performing risk assessments and reviewing control effectiveness to support business change and ongoing risk management.
  • Proven experience reviewing risk, compliance and governance arrangements for a Superannuation Trustee, Responsible Entity and/or AFSL holder.

You’ll thrive here if…

If you can adapt from BAU to the ambiguous with ease, you’ll do well here. Change is never easy, so bring your commitment, grit and growth mindset.
