This position is based in Vadodara, India as a permanent work-from-office role. The standard shift is 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST. 

Role details: M4 level | 1 opening | 15+ years of experience expected | Quality Assurance department | Primary platform scope: Credible and InSync. 

 

Summary of the Sr. Manager, Quality Engineering 

The Sr. Manager, Quality Engineering is a senior tactical and strategic leader responsible for the Quality Engineering organization supporting the Credible and InSync platforms. This leader will manage through QA managers and leads, guide a 60+ member team, and ensure the organization can deliver reliable, scalable, secure, and customer-ready software at the pace of the product roadmap. 

This role owns the quality strategy across manual testing, automation, CI/CD quality gates, release readiness, test environments, defect lifecycle, performance, reliability, and continuous improvement. The Sr. Manager will partner closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, Support, Security, and other Quality Engineering leaders to mature standards, improve predictability, and create a culture where quality is engineered into the delivery process. 

Key Skills and Leadership Capabilities 

  • Large-team leadership, including direct management of QA managers and leads, talent development, performance coaching, succession planning, and hiring. 

  • Quality Engineering strategy across web, API, integration, data, mobile, interoperability, performance, accessibility, and release validation for healthcare SaaS products. 

  • Modern automation leadership, including framework selection, automation architecture, CI/CD integration, test data strategy, flakiness reduction, maintainability, and measurable automation ROI. 

  • Practical use of AI-assisted QA capabilities for test design, test generation, impact analysis, defect triage, documentation, and regression optimization, with human review and data governance controls. 

  • Agile, DevOps, and PDLC operating discipline, including risk-based testing, release sign-off, quality metrics, continuous testing, and executive-level communication of quality health. 

  • Strong stakeholder partnership, analytical problem solving, decision making under pressure, negotiation, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement mindset. 

Responsibilities for the Sr. Manager, Quality Engineering 

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a 60+ member Quality Engineering organization through QA managers, leads, and senior individual contributors across Credible and InSync. 

  • Define and execute the Quality Engineering strategy for assigned platforms, balancing manual, exploratory, automation, API, performance, regression, security-minded, and release-readiness testing. 

  • Establish clear operating rhythms for planning, execution, escalation, defect management, release sign-off, environment readiness, and cross-team dependency management. 

  • Drive automation maturity by improving framework reliability, pipeline integration, coverage strategy, test maintainability, test data readiness, and automated quality gates. 

  • Champion responsible AI adoption in QA workflows, including approved-tool usage, prompt and review standards, auditability, privacy/PHI awareness, and measurable productivity improvements. 

  • Build and maintain quality KPIs and Agile quality indicators, including defect escape rate, leakage, automation health, execution cycle time, flaky test trends, release readiness, and production quality feedback. 

  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, Support, Security, and customer-facing teams to align quality priorities with roadmap commitments, customer outcomes, and operational risk. 

  • Evaluate, select, and implement QA tools, frameworks, and practices that improve coverage, speed, traceability, and confidence without adding unnecessary process burden. 

  • Develop managers and leads into accountable quality owners who can make sound tradeoffs, coach teams, communicate risk clearly, and maintain consistent standards across platforms. 

  • Create a culture of quality, accountability, learning, and continuous improvement across distributed teams while keeping the organization focused on customer impact and delivery predictability. 

Qualifications of the Sr. Manager, Quality Engineering 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 

  • 15+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Software Engineering, or equivalent technology leadership roles. 

  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, including experience managing managers, QA leads, or large distributed Quality Engineering teams. 

  • Proven experience leading quality strategy for enterprise SaaS, healthcare technology, EHR, interoperability, or similarly complex regulated software products. 

  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, risk-based testing, test design, exploratory testing, automation design, defect lifecycle management, and release governance. 

  • Hands-on familiarity with modern automation and engineering ecosystems such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, REST-assured, Postman, JMeter, k6, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools. 

  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming with Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages, with enough technical depth to review automation strategy and guide senior engineers. 

  • Experience applying or governing AI-assisted engineering or QA workflows, including responsible use of LLM-enabled tooling, human review, data privacy, and measurable quality outcomes. 

  • Excellent communication, executive presence, organizational judgment, and ability to influence cross-functional teams across India and global delivery partners.
