Senior Manager: Quality Assurance (Level 3)

Role Overview Responsible for defining and driving the quality strategy across enterprise-grade software platforms, ensuring the delivery of robust, high-performing, and secure digital products. Operating in a complex ecosystem of mobile applications, APIs, partner integrations, and cloud/hybrid infrastructure, this role provides leadership over functional, regression, integration, and non-functional testing practices.

This role oversees the end-to-end QA lifecycle — from test planning and automation to release governance and defect tracking — while embedding shift-left practices within Agile and DevOps workflows. The Senior QA Manager leads cross-functional QA teams and ensures quality gates are met at every phase of delivery.

Key Performance Areas

Test Automation & Engineering

  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Enforce shift-left QA practices, quality gate definitions, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Use tools like Selenium, Appium, JMeter, Postman, Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, and App Center.

Application & API Testing

  • Lead testing of mobile apps and APIs.
  • Manage test data, mocking/stubbing services, and ensure environment consistency across test cycles.

QA Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead quality governance, define SLA/SLO-based defect handling policies, and track quality metrics.
  • Drive testing strategy for infrastructure transitions, including platform cutovers, DR failovers, and performance scaling.

Cloud & Infrastructure QA

  • Oversee QA in cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Manage QA across hybrid cloud infrastructures, including on-prem to Azure migrations and Disaster Recovery readiness validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality strategy for mobile and backend systems.
  • Establish automated and manual testing standards, coverage, and quality KPIs.
  • Oversee release readiness, regression testing, and post-deployment validation.
  • Manage testing of test/DR environment parity and sanity functionality.
  • Coordinate with DevOps to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor QA teams, define SLAs for defect resolution, and drive quality culture.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and production defects.
  • Be a key stakeholder in Go/No-Go decisions during critical migration phases.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including 3+ years in a QA leadership role
  • Demonstrated success managing distributed teams and complex system landscapes
  • Advanced degrees or management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile Leadership) are a plus

Technical Skills

  • Testing & Automation: Selenium, JMeter, Postman, Cypress, Appium
  • CI/CD & Test Integration: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, SonarQube, Allure, GitHub Actions
  • Mobile & API Testing: Firebase Test Lab, App Center, Swagger/Postman
  • Test Data & Environment Management: WireMock or custom middleware

Certifications (preferred, not mandatory)

  • ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent (required)
  • Agile Testing Certification (e.g., ICP-TST) is an advantage
