About the Role 

We’re looking to hire a creative self-starter who loves entertainment and storytelling to lead our Publicity efforts in Thailand - one of our priority markets - in our fastest-growing region, Southeast Asia. You will have deep relationships with media and influencers, an instinctive ability to tell stories and understand the local entertainment industry, and an equal love for thinking strategically and executing with excellence. You’ll need to be curious and thoughtful and have a proven track record of fostering stellar relationships with internal and external partners. You will need to be able to lead your team in the work as well as do the work, collaborating closely with other business executives in building country-level strategy. 

Successful Candidates Will… 

  • Have a strong passion for Publicity, deep knowledge of the Thai entertainment industry, talent, and creators, and a keen interest in local and global media trends. 

  • Think strategically and lead your team on campaigns or new ideas that haven’t yet been achieved or previously attempted (and have fun with it).

  • Bring sharp and bold thinking to the team with an innate ability to elevate executional excellence both internally (strategies, cross-functional collaboration) and externally.

  • Have strong press and talent relationships

  • Create compelling campaigns in conjunction with Marketing, Social Marketing, and Content, that tie our titles and talent to our brand

  • Be curious about all aspects of the Netflix business and are familiar with the Netflix culture memo, and eager to work among like-minded colleagues and embrace the company's philosophies and values.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the Thailand Publicity team, balancing leadership and execution, you will need to conceptualize and execute innovative public relations and multidisciplinary strategies to drive greater awareness and conversation about our titles, talent, and brand in a crowded and highly competitive landscape.

  • Work closely with and act as a strategic thought partner to the Thailand  Marketing, Content & Communications team leaders on executing the Country, title, and brand campaign strategy. 

  • Autonomously manage cross-functional relationships across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

  • Pitch and maintain relationships with a variety of high-profile traditional media as well as new and emerging media, including influencers, digital creators, etc. 

  • Manage team budget and monitor key metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Assess team needs including internal resources as well as external (e.g., managing and evolving current agency network). 

  • Serve as an expert on Thailand, in particular, being able to convey its specific cultural needs and nuances within Netflix

Experience & Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in building strategic and creative consumer publicity campaigns, preferably at a streaming network or studio with a background in entertainment (TV, film), global lifestyle/sports brand, social/content platforms, or publicity agency. 

  • Business-level English and Thai fluency.

  • Be nimble and fast-moving yet well-organized - ability to work proactively, independently, and juggle multiple tasks at once

  • Be resourceful and solution-oriented. You demonstrate strong judgment in the face of ambiguity. 

  • Be a role model of inclusion and candor (per our cultural values), even when that approach is atypical. You also thrive in an environment of freedom and responsibility. 

  • The role will report to the Southeast Asia Publicity leader. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

The role may require travel in the APAC region.
