The Partner Service Finance team is looking for you as Senior Manager Cost Optimization, acting as Finance Business Partner for Zalando’s Partner Platform Business.

Become a trusted partner for our business- and leadership teams on costing related topics. You’ll strengthen our activity based costing, cost driver-trees, project ROIs & costs of maintenance models and further analyse & optimise a) project prioritisation and b) the cost structure of Zalando’s platform business. Thus you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging your strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills to ensure operational performance and the development & tracking of related input & output KPIs.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Prepare and present monthly cost performance for the Partner Services leadership team, providing actionable insights.

  • Maintain and develop financial models, including the "cost-to-serve a merchant" model, leveraging cost information to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate closely with the Partner Business, influencing cost-saving decisions behind driver trees through insights generation and data-driven reporting.

  • Manage the alignment with Partner Business teams on target-setting for cost-per-unit, responsibilities on cost drivers and define ownership.

  • Act as a trusted business partner for our Partner Platform Business on all cost-related topics. Leverage your expertise in *A*ctivity*B*ased*C*osting and financial analysis to drive cost optimization initiatives and support profitable growth.

  • Actively participate in Project Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews, ensuring that financial considerations are integrated into the project prioritisation and cost of maintenance decision-making processes.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You are experienced in *A*ctivity*B*ased*C*osting and thus you know how to translate cost center budgets across the organisation into costs per activity

  • You have a clear understanding of cost driver trees, costs of maintenance models and can develop and implement such

  • You do not only understand the “cost to serve” models, but you can further strengthen such models

  • You calculate project ROIs (pre- & post-calculations; OPEX, CAPEX) and can articulate the impacts to the business; knowing that savings are great, but optimization is king

  • You are hands on, e.g. you work on details with the different team members and present the results for decision making (e.g. project prioritisation) to the leadership team

  • You consider yourself as expert in cost optimization, while you enjoy collaboration with finance & business teams and thus transfer knowledge to the wider organisation
