About us
Our Program Excellence team supports clients to feel confident in the planning, delivery and impact of their projects, programs, policies and initiatives.
We help clients navigate risk to deliver business transformation projects and programs, providing confidence and insights into delivery risks and mitigations to support successful outcomes. Clients engage us at any point through a project lifecycle to offer an independent perspective on progress and challenges, and to support capability uplift within project teams and across the organisation.
Our team specialises in key project and program assurance areas such as governance, planning, benefits management and transition to operations, as well as technical aspects such as testing and data migration.
We also provide specialist support in PMO establishment, project and program frameworks, and portfolio investment governance as well as policy program design and evaluation.
About the role
We're expanding our high-performing, mission-driven Program Excellence team to amplify our impact on critical public purpose initiatives.
This role blends program assurance with project and program management capabilities to drive continuous improvement, strengthen accountability, and shape insights that matter.
You will apply your knowledge in portfolio, project, and program management, design, evaluation and assurance through your role as trusted advisor to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Lead teams of various sizes and diverse capabilities to deliver project and program assurance reviews, assessing effectiveness, risk, compliance, and delivery maturity
- Develop and strengthen client relationships to drive business growth
- Collaborate with project and program teams to embed real-time learning and adaptive management practices
- Deliver meaningful and actionable insights through data synthesis, evaluations, and reporting tailored to diverse stakeholders
- Contribute to the evolution of our assurance and evaluation methodologies, tools, and templates
- Champion a culture of excellence, integrity, and outcomes-focus across the project lifecycle
- Mentor and support colleagues to uplift capability and foster shared ownership of excellence
What we’re looking for
- Hands on Portfolio, Program and Project Management experience, including transformation design, change management, PMO establishment and delivery
- Experience in program assurance, evaluation, audit, or performance review roles
- Experience in ICT-enabled or Infrastructure project and program delivery, particularly in the public sector
- Proven experience managing multiple client projects at any one time, providing leadership and coaching to project teams to solve client problems by analysing data, conducting research, and synthesising information
- Someone who can confidently lead a client project end to end, with experience managing senior client stakeholders such as program directors and executive sponsors.
- Experience with business development activities such as proposals, internal account team initiatives, and thought leadership development.
- Analytical skills to generate insights from complex data and translate into strategic recommendations
- Confident communicator—able to influence, challenge constructively, and facilitate workshops or reviews
- Adaptable, curious, and proactive in navigating ambiguity and driving improvement

QualificationsWe are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area of study
- 7+ years' experience in the project and program management field
- Experience leading teams to deliver outcomes in a client-facing environment
Additionally we would love it if you have some of the following:
- Certifications in a project management or related discipline, such as Prince2, Managing Successful Programs (MSP), Management of Portfolios (MoP), Agile or Scrum, Change Management, etc.
- Previous professional services experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
