Position Overview

As a Sr. Product Manager you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of large-scale, complex products that transform the CarMax experience. Team Overview

You will lead discovery and delivery of complex digital products that ultimately enhance the customer journey. This role is central to defining product vision and strategy, setting objectives and key results, and driving collaboration across engineering, design, and business teams. You will foster innovation, streamline processes, and ensure alignment with CarMax’s broader program strategy.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of customer needs, business priorities, industry trends, and technology applications.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to launch products, making quick, informed decisions, and removing obstacles.
  • Drive product discovery, prioritize opportunities, and manage a dynamic backlog of initiatives.
  • Oversee solution design and implementation, monitor post-launch performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Advocate for your product by articulating customer and business value through presentations and prototypes.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to best practices in product management and agile delivery.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing mobile products (iOS/Android), with a strong understanding of native app development patterns, platform constraints, and release cycles

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in digital product management or a related field.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Analytical mindset with expertise in using data to drive decisions and measure success.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and customer focus.
  • Passion for creating innovative solutions and delivering exceptional user experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in an agile environment.
  • Technical experience or software development knowledge.
