UPM is looking for Senior Manager, Product Development & Innovation, Americas to join our Innovation & New Business Development team for a permanent position located in Mills River, NC.

What you will do

  • Define and coordinate regional product development agenda in alignment with regional business priorities
  • Lead, motivate and develop regional Product Development & Innovation Team
  • Partner with regional market organization to effectively translate market needs into labeling solutions
  • Lead regional break-through innovation programs in closed collaboration with global Innovation Hub
  • Collaborate closely with global expert network to scale UPM’s unique adhesive and coating competence
  • Pro-actively contribute and support global innovation excellence programs and its regionalization

Who you are

  • You have Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Technical Engineering, Master’s degree preferred
  • You have a proven leadership history of > 10 years
  • You have Product Development background in Chemical, Packaging, or adjacent Industries
  • You have vast experience in innovation management (NPD management) and respective tools & processes (e.g. DFSS)
  • You have significant business insight; professional experience in a business role e.g., in product management or market strategy preferred
  • You are an engaging team player leveraging regional and global network
  • You embody the spirit of entrepreneurship with a readiness to address and overcome obstacles
  • You are fluent in English and other languages are seen as asset

Location: Mills River, NC

Ability to travel - approximately 25% of the time

Possibility of occasional remote work (details to be discussed during an interview)

This position reports to the Vice President, Product Development & Innovations.
