Our collective future depends on carbon-free transportation. To forge that future, Voltera develops, owns, and operates the infrastructure that enables companies to succeed at scale with zero-emission vehicles. We’re looking for innovative, people-first team members who understand that culture is critical in our effort to positively impact the world’s transition to a carbon-free transportation future.

The Senior Manager, Procurement owns direct procurement for capital projects: the end-to-end execution of hardware purchasing — ordering, transport, delivery, payment — and the downstream lifecycle of that equipment as Voltera assets, including inventory, warranty, and RMA management.

This role is an execution and process-ownership role, not a technical selection role. Product and design decisions (which chargers, switchboards, or network equipment a project requires) remain with the responsible engineering, network, and charging owners. Their approved specification is the trigger for this role to run everything downstream: internal back-end steps, the vendor’s ordering process, delivery tracking, and de-confliction with project schedules.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Direct Procurement for Capital Projects

  • Manage ordering, transport, delivery, and payment for all hardware purchased for capital projects (chargers, switchgear, network equipment, and related goods).
  • Take the approved equipment specification from the responsible technical owner as the trigger to execute all internal back-end steps (POs, approvals, invoicing coordination).
  • Follow each vendor’s ordering process; track every order through delivery.
  • De-conflict deliveries against project schedule changes, coordinating with project and development teams.

Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Own equipment from the moment Voltera takes possession: warehouse receipt, storage, and transport to site.
  • Track installation and commissioning milestones per asset — warranty start dates trigger differently by vendor (some on installation, some on commissioning) and must be captured accurately.
  • Maintain the asset registry as the system of record for asset and warranty status across the fleet and liaison with cross-functional partners as-needed.

Warranty & RMA Process Management

  • Document and facilitate the warranty claims process with hardware vendors: report parts consumed under warranty, enforce vendor objection windows, and ensure Voltera is resupplied (including return shipment logistics).
  • Adjudicate disputed claims (e.g., field service attributing failures to misuse, abuse, or vandalism) within the procedural time limits each contract allows, so Voltera does not pay for costs it should not bear.
  • Operate this process consistently regardless of whether field service is delivered first-party or by partners.

Inventory Management

  • Own inventory tracking and accuracy for project hardware and spare parts across warehouses and sites.
  • Ensure parts consumption is captured and reconciled against warranty claims and resupply.

SUPPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support vendor performance management: sit in on vendor reviews with vendor owners; help hold suppliers to committed reporting formats, cadences, and compliance rubrics.
  • Contribute to the development of Voltera’s vendor management rulebook (onboarding, contracting, and performance processes)
  • Other duties as assigned.

MUST-HAVE:

  • 7+ years in procurement, supply chain, or logistics operations, with 3+ years managing direct/hardware procurement for capital projects (energy, EV infrastructure, construction, or industrial equipment preferred).
  • Demonstrated ownership of PO-to-delivery execution with multiple concurrent vendors and shifting project schedules.
  • Experience with asset lifecycle and warranty/RMA management, including claims adjudication under contractual terms.
  • Strong process orientation: able to build and enforce repeatable procurement, receiving, and inventory workflows in a scaling environment.
  • Systems fluency: procurement/inventory tracking tools; Smartsheet, Salesforce, or comparable platforms a plus.
  • Effective cross-functional communicator with engineering, project development, finance, and field service teams.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Experience in EV charging, AV/robotaxi, fleet operations, or broader energy infrastructure.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment.

LOCATION:

  • Flexible
  • Travel Expectations (as needed)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Base compensation: $145,000 to $175,000 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Our total compensation package includes the base salary, bonus, incentive equity compensation, and competitive benefits (medical/vision/dental insurance, matching 401(k), Life Insurance, unlimited vacation/PTO, & EV incentive). Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. Relocation benefits are not available.
