Senior Manager Procurement Business Planning (Ingredients)
As the Senior Manager Procurement Business Planning, you will play a crucial role in supporting the North American Zone (USA and Canada) Ingredient procurement leadership team. You will be responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the function by providing strategic guidance, managing key projects, and driving efficient business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, strategic planning, and project management, with exceptional communication and organizational skills.
What's on the menu? Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Ingredient Procurement leadership team with running the business and key procurement rituals and routines, i.e., staff meetings, managing group-wide deliverables, and preparing materials for senior-level meetings.
  • Execute portfolio and business planning processes with the Ingredients Procurement team. Includes acting as a gatekeeper for the sourcing table, reviewing material and team readiness, scheduling packages to be reviewed, and documenting actions from sourcing regularly.
  • Act as a liaison between the Ingredient Leadership Team and buying teams to provide leadership support.
  • Analyze the execution of functional initiatives versus the functional business plan.
  • Collect and analyze key metrics and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organize and coordinate category review meetings, including setting agendas and actions and documenting outcomes.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, supply chain management, finance, business, or equivalent. MBA and advanced Procurement qualifications preferred. Candidates with equivalent experience and/or education will be considered.
  • 5 years of Procurement experience, with a minimum of 3 years of direct procurement experience.
  • Strong Business acumen with the ability to understand and explain Procurement results and variances to non-Procurement audiences.
  • Results-oriented, adept at solving complex challenges and dealing with ambiguity; anticipates and adjusts to problems and obstacles in the team or the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven track record of building effective business relationships.
  • Proven project management and solid analytical, consultative, and diagnostic skills; able to make sound, data-driven business decisions. Prior experience with business case development and multi-workstream project management is critical to success in this role.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, with strong results orientation, ability to manage multiple priorities, lead cross-functional teams, and adapt to changing requirements and environments with limited oversight.
  • Strong strategic thinker who considers various perspectives and impacts of issues and can project them into the future.
  • Ability to quickly develop organizational agility, e.g., knows how to get things done through formal and informal channels and is an effective delegator.
  • Ability to influence and coach without direct accountability, supporting NA Ingredient Procurement teams in achieving results.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and understanding of source-to-pay tools (SAP, Ariba, Workday, etc.).


This position is considered a typical office environment with limited travel or visits to external locations; offices are open workspaces.
To create a more agile and modern workplace, Chicago/Aon Center-based employees to work virtually for up to two days each week and work in person at AON during the defined core days at least three days per workweek.
