Job Summary

Drive pricing strategy and execution to optimize revenue growth, profitability, and market competitiveness. Lead list price management, category discount structures, and customer profitability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven pricing strategies. Manage discount rates and promotions to align with margin goals and support sustainable business growth.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and executes pricing strategies that maximize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.
  • Influences competitive intelligence to inform pricing strategies and business decisions.
  • Oversees list price management, ensuring strategic alignment with cost fluctuations, competitive positioning, and margin goals.
  • Leads category discount management, balancing margin optimization and sales growth by leveraging data-driven insights.
  • Analyzes customer profitability to refine pricing structures and drive strategic opportunities.
  • Strengthens merchant partnerships by collaborating with vendors and suppliers to enhance competitive positioning.
  • Utilizes advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to assess pricing performance and identifies opportunities for optimization.
  • Partners with Merchandising, Finance, and Sales to ensure pricing strategies align with overall business objectives.
     

Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors.
  • Manages a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable
  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
