Marsh is seeking a Senior Manager, Placement Operations to join our Business Client Services (BCS) team, based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for optimizing Placement operations for the Pacific business.
Reporting to the International Head of Placement Operations, with a dotted-line connection to the Senior Manager, Value Stream Operations (Pacific), you’ll play a key role balancing global initiatives with local Pacific needs. You’ll also be the critical interface between onshore Pacific teams and our Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India, ensuring seamless service delivery with consistent quality and accuracy—while driving digitization and process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and team effectiveness.
We will count on you to:
- Implement the Placement 3-year strategy aligned to global direction and Pacific business goals, partnering with the International Head of Placement Operations and global peers.
- Manage a team of Placement professionals, building a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement, and supporting professional development and capability uplift.
- Define and deliver operational service metrics, report performance to senior leadership, and build improvement plans to close gaps and lift outcomes.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and operational stakeholders to maintain robust governance frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee placement operational risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies.

- Leadership experience within insurance broking or a related financial services environment, ideally with exposure to placement operations (broking or underwriting environments).
- Strong people leadership skills (coaching, delegation, motivation, and performance uplift).
- Experience working effectively with geographically distributed teams (including offshore/shared service partners) and navigating time zone differences.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Sound understanding of operating in a regulated environment, including risk management and compliance.
