We are seeking a Senior Manager to contribute to GiveDirectly’s next phase of growth by strengthening and expanding our institutional and foundation partnerships. This role plays a pivotal part in securing high-impact funding that enables us to scale evidence-based cash programs globally.
As a senior leader within the Global Partnerships team, you’ll be responsible for driving new and innovative revenue growth across an assigned portfolio of partners. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, and operates with a high degree of autonomy, setting and executing engagement strategy for priority funders and stewarding relationships from early conversations through proposal development and contract.
A Senior Manager, Partnerships requires the ability to thread the needle between exploratory conversations and clearly defined next steps, translating high-level ideas into compelling pitches, actionable plans, and ultimately, contracted funding. Working closely with the Director of Partnerships on positioning and portfolio strategy, you will independently own day-to-day relationship management and pipeline building. You’ll be responsible for developing high-quality materials and ensuring funder intelligence is systematically captured and shared across the team.

- Location: Remote, with minimum 3 hours overlap with East Africa timezones
- Travel Requirement: Must be able to travel at minimum 2 times per year to one of our countries of operation for team retreats, donor field visits, or other events.
- Lead and grow a portfolio: Own strategic engagement and pipeline development across institutional and foundation partners, setting the engagement strategy and advancing high-potential opportunities into funded partnerships.
- Represent GiveDirectly externally: Drive external engagement across funded and strategic partnerships, leading meetings, pitch development and relationship management with credibility and clarity.
- Prospect and plan systematically: Monitor and synthesize funding trends and donor priorities across thematic and country portfolios, translating strategic intelligence into actionable next steps and internal planning.
- Write compellingly: Draft high-quality fundraising materials that translate complex research, product and programmatic insights into clear, compelling narratives for donor audiences.
- Manage complex projects: Navigate complexity and blank space, bringing creative and grounded problem-solving to the management of high-stakes proposals and projects.
- Develop others: Support and mentor colleagues across teams, building confidence and capability in proposal writing, relationship management, and strategic communication.
- Exceptional alignment with GiveDirectly Values and active demonstration of our core competencies: emotional intelligence, problem solving, project management, follow-through, and fostering inclusivity. - 5+ years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, or program development in a mission-driven or high-performance setting, with a strong understanding of key debates and major players in development and humanitarian assistance.
- A track record of tenacious problem solving, taking ownership, and delivering results in complex, ambiguous contexts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for high-stakes, external-facing materials.
- Comfort navigating relationships and working directly with senior leaders internally and externally.
- Experience operating with data to strengthen team-wide positioning and decision-making
- Strong prioritization and self-management skills, with comfort operating across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing others.
Compensation
At GiveDirectly, we strive to pay our employees generously and equitably. We use an accredited third party salary aggregator to calculate what we believe to be competitive pay based on role, location, and cost of living. Unless otherwise noted, the benefits stipend may be used to cover benefits or taken as additional taxable income.

- Base Salary: $109,200
- Bonus at Target Performance: 10% (~$10,920, with potential for upside. For reference, with the organization's current performance multiplier, this amount would be $12,776 in 2025)
- Estimated Total Compensation at Target: $120,120+
- Annual Benefits Stipend: $21,393
United Kingdom
- Base Salary: £71,400
- Bonus at Target Performance: 10% (~£7,140, with potential for upside. For reference, with the organization's current performance multiplier, this amount would be £8,354 in 2025)
- Estimated Total Compensation at Target: £78,540+
- Annual Benefits Stipend: £2,760
