The Sr. Manager of Package Development is responsible for leading package development for promotional accessories and gifting/GWP initiatives. The ideal candidate excels in cross-functional environments, demonstrates strong project leadership, and thrives in ambiguity. This person brings vast knowledge and expertise in launching high-quality products while ensuring successful execution within compressed timelines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead the development and commercialization of packaging and promotional product initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, business objectives, and launch timelines
  • Manage all stages of the development process, including innovation, sourcing, sampling, testing, artwork execution, production, and launch readiness
  • Support Marketing, Events, Education, and Creative teams to deliver impactful packaging and accessories that work with the campaign thematic
  • Work closely with Project Management and Operational teams to ensure projects stay on-track and meet cost objectives
  • Develop supplier briefs and maintain strategic partnerships with packaging suppliers and manufacturers, driving innovation, performance, and cost efficiency
  • Source and develop custom-branded merchandise, gifting items, and limited-edition promotional products that meet brand, quality, cost, compliance, and manufacturability requirements
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), packaging specifications, and assembly instructions
  • Review and approve packaging structures, materials, artwork, and production standards to ensure accurate execution and quality outcomes
  • Manage quotations, partnering with Procurement to optimize costs and mitigate supply risks
  • Identify and resolve technical, quality, supply, and timeline-related risks to ensure successful project execution
  • Coordinate the development of samples, prototypes, and renderings to support stakeholder reviews
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure all packaging and promotional products meet safety, legal, and compliance standards
  • Research emerging materials, technologies, consumer trends, and sustainability innovations, championing initiatives that support recyclability, responsible sourcing, and ESG commitments
  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices that enhance speed, efficiency, quality, and overall project performance
  • Attend supplier meetings, industry events, and trade shows to identify emerging packaging and promotional product trends and opportunities
  • Other projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in packaging development, promotional product development, consumer products, beauty, retail, or related industries
  • Experience within beauty, prestige consumer goods, or luxury brands preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy
  • Strong skills in anticipating needs and demonstrating a proactive approach to job responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience developing and commercializing branded promotional products and packaging programs
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, printing technologies, and promotional merchandise sourcing
  • Experience managing global suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles, packaging regulations, testing methodologies, and quality systems
  • Exceptional project management, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and packaging specification systems
  • Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time

The expected base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000 per year. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
