ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions and Primary Duties
Oversee engagement teams and manage all aspects of client engagements, ensuring exceptional service delivery to assigned clients
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients; supervise and review monthly closes and all deliverables, including financial statements, annual budgets, and audit preparations
- Develop a deep understanding of each client’s operations, systems, procedures, and internal controls to deliver tailored solutions and insightful guidance
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and commitment to quality in the completion of all client deliverables within deadlines
- Take ownership of client billing upon becoming familiar with engagement scope and budgeted hours; monitor job progress and analyze overruns, present recommendations for additional billing to the Managing Director
- Participate in new client development activities alongside upper management, including attending prospect meetings, contributing to presentations and proposals, and identifying cross-selling opportunities
- Actively cultivate all sales leads and convert prospects to new clients, ushering them through the onboarding process
- Proactively identify and address financial or operational challenges for clients, offering practical recommendations and solutions
- Assist with the selection, implementation, and integration of accounting software and complementary third-party systems (e.g., payroll, POS, time & billing) as needed
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment, supporting management initiatives and promoting a positive organizational culture
- Train and supervise senior and staff accountants, ensuring objectives are accomplished efficiently and effectively; provide hands-on support as required
- Execute other responsibilities and special projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in accounting, taxation or related field
Active CPA or equivalent certification
- Significant experience with cloud-based accounting and business systems (e.g., QBO, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Yardi, BILL, Ramp, Gusto, Avalara), including remote collaboration tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, including CoPilot.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to apply AI tools to maximize efficiency across engagements, where applicable
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
8 years of experience in public accounting or related field
5 years supervisory
Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Proficient use of applicable technology
Availability to travel based on business needs
