Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations

Hypertherm Associates is seeking an accomplished Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Operations, to guide an organization of approximately 220 Associates across manufacturing, process engineering, and maintenance. In this highly visible role, you will align operations with business and functional strategies, translate those priorities into an actionable organizational plan, and lead the team in delivering safe, high-quality, reliable, and financially responsible results. Balancing approximately 50% strategic leadership with 50% tactical execution, you will work across a one-to-three-year horizon while keeping daily performance on track. You will operate with significant independence, build strong partnerships across the enterprise, and help shape the future of manufacturing operations.

As the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Operations, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a large, cross-functional organization. Set clear expectations and provide thoughtful leadership across manufacturing and technical teams, including associate selection, onboarding, coaching, development, performance management, conflict resolution, and recognition.

  • Build an engaged, high-performing culture. Create a professional, supportive, and respectful environment that strengthens associate well-being, accountability, development, and team effectiveness.

  • Grow organizational capability. Develop talent pipelines, mentoring relationships, and training plans that prepare associates and leaders to meet evolving business and enterprise needs.

  • Advance operational excellence. Champion a systematic continuous-improvement strategy in partnership with the Corporate CI Team, sponsor meaningful initiatives, and recognize associate contributions that drive sustained engagement and results.

  • Make safety a shared commitment. Lead strategic safety planning, reduce ergonomic risk, and maintain a safe work environment through corporate programs and OSHA Voluntary Protection Program standards.

  • Embed quality at the source. Strengthen systems, behaviors, and accountability that identify and resolve quality concerns before they affect customers.

  • Optimize flow, capacity, and customer delivery. Partner with commodity managers and master schedulers on production and material strategies, balance inventory across the supply chain, identify longer-term capacity gaps, and develop risk-mitigation plans.

  • Own financial performance. Develop the manufacturing team’s 18-month financial plan, review monthly performance against plan, implement corrective actions, and build compelling return-on-investment models for capital proposals.

  • Influence new product development. Represent operations throughout the NPD process, surface risks early, and help ensure manufacturing readiness.

  • Turn data into action. Define, analyze, and communicate key operational metrics; identify performance gaps; and sponsor projects that improve outcomes for associates and customers.

  • Deliver complex initiatives. Lead strategic projects and mentor others in established project-management practices to achieve commitments on time and within budget.

  • Shape the future of operations. Help develop the operational vision and strategy, anticipate opportunities and obstacles, solve complex business challenges, and collaborate across business and functional teams to advance company goals.
