Job Description:

The Senior Manager NOC Network Operations supports Network Operations by providing Leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the safe and efficient execution of Southwest’s network. They’ll Lead and develop Chiefs of Network and Network Superintendents, fostering a culture of Safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Company standards. They’ll partner across operational and support Teams to drive network performance, operational excellence, and initiatives related to technology, training, reporting, analytics, and operational strategy. The Senior Manager NOC Network Operations leverages strong Leadership, communication, and decisionmaking skills to enhance reliability, improve efficiency, and support positive operational and Customer outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Preside over all aspects of Network Operations including but not limited to, the establishment and modification of all policies, procedures, and training pertaining to the Network Operations
  • Collaborate with other departments as it relates to NOC strategy and actions
  • Audit Employee job performance to ensure accuracy and compliance with Company policies and government regulations
  • Participate in the implementation of the Emergency Response initiatives
  • Government and industry meetings to develop new processes
  • Ensure Company performance metrics are met
  • Collaborate with others on changes in policy to the Superintendents of Dispatch through the creation and distribution of Read before Dispatch bulletins and other guidelines
  • Provide Leadership and direction of the Network Operations Control office to execution of the daily schedule is operated safely and maintained efficiently
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Network Operations guidelines, federal regulations, and Company policies
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and leadership technique
  • Expert knowledge of FAA and DOT regulations
  • Knowledge of forecasting and strategic planning

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading Team(s)
  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
  • Airline network operations
  • Safety and operational performance objectives
  • Project Management
  • Preferred: Understanding of the factors that influence airline schedule planning, execution, and network performance 
  • Preferred: Experience leading cross-functional projects in a complex operational environment

  • Ability to perform work duties from office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Ability to work extended hours based on operational needs

Pay & Benefits:

  • Competitive market salary from $160,550.00 per year to $178,400.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
