The Role
The Senior Manager, Market & Competitive Intelligence will support stakeholders across Fidelity Institutional (FI) with actionable insights on external market trends. The Senior Manager will leverage strong analytical skills, industry knowledge and critical thinking to create data-driven insights that help business partners take advantage of market opportunities and stay ahead of the competition. These insights will be generated via a combination of ongoing analysis, ad-hoc projects and proactive market intelligence reports.
Your primary areas of focus in this role will be the institutional and intermediary distribution markets. You will use a range of data, market research, and other sources to monitor ongoing industry trends and build forward-looking insights which help FI meet the changing needs of our clients. This includes tracking evolving investor demand, understanding competitors, and identify areas of opportunity or risk to our business.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in investment industry; ideally in business intelligence, strategy, distribution or product management
Proven track record of synthesizing data and research from various sources into actionable insights and practical recommendations
Experience working with flows, performance and other competitive data to support product and distribution strategy, including via industry databases such as Simfund, Broadridge, eVestment
Enthusiastic about working across a diverse set of business partners and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to explain sophisticated concepts in a simple, straightforward manner
Knowledge of investment and distribution concepts – including established and alternative asset classes, asset managers and distribution channels
Experience working with analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, etc. a plus

The Market Intelligence & Commercialization team brings together deep industry knowledge focused on elevating relevant market and competitive insights within the intermediary and institutional financial markets with a process to systematically identify and act on both near- and long-term commercial opportunities. We are focused on a culture of learning and value action, expertise, innovation, and connectivity.
The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$143,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
