Are you an ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT PROFESSINONAL looking for an opportunity to grow and drive next-generation manufacturing technology and process solutions. Our Lebanon, MO location has an opening for you as a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering.  You will lead engineering teams responsible for supporting various operational departments to ensure excellent plant performance involving safety, quality, cost, and customer delivery.  These teams include Process Engineering, Automation, and Equipment Reliability. You’ll be an integral part of change management, plant cost reductions, and capital project programs. This role blends technical depth, people leadership, and cross-functional execution to enable next-generation manufacturing capabilities.

As A Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, You Will:

  • Lead, motivate, and provide direction for the engineering team. Create a positive work environment through open communication and collaboration.

  • Identify training needs for support staff and create opportunities for skill and career development.

  • Develop department operating budgets and monitor performance.  Takes corrective action(s) to ensure budgets are met within acceptable limits.

  • Develop and maintain department organizations to ensure adequate resources are assigned to achieve plant goals and objects.

  • Manage cost reduction and capital equipment programs.

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies into manufacturing processes.

  • Assist in reduction and control of the energy footprint of the facility to achieve sustainability objectives.

  • Maintain and optimize equipment reliability using lean principles and best practices.

  • Review manufacturing methods and equipment to improve operational efficiency, identify opportunities to automate processes where practical.

  • Create manufacturing processes and methods to meet new product development requirements for part quality, cost, throughput, and schedule.  Work closely with Advanced Manufacturing, Design, and Quality groups to achieve necessary results. Collaborate with engineers to ensure controls/automation/programming designs align with Copeland standards.

  • Work with outside integrators and machine builders to confirm new equipment meets design requirements and performs as expected.

  • Develop documentation for use by operators & maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting.

  • Ensure all production-related equipment meet all safety requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards.

  • Travel up to 10% as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process, Controls, or related field).

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related environments.

  • Strong project management experience with a track record of driving initiatives from concept through execution.

  • Proven experience leading engineering and/or manufacturing cost reduction efforts.

  • Solid understanding of engineering for manufacturability.

  • Prior experience leading and developing teams.

  • Strong discipline around project management documentation and process rigor.

  • Hands-on change management experience with a passion for driving meaningful impact.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Advanced technical degree and/or MBA.

  • Experience leading managers or managing through organizational layers.

Onsite Work Arrangement:

This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.

Our plant in Lebanon, MO is Copeland’s flagship operation for scroll compressor assembly and a machining powerhouse for main bearing housings and scroll elements, with over 60 million scroll compressors produced in the past 27 years.
