Purpose:
Reporting to the Surgical Vision Global Implant Platform Engineering Senior Director, this role drives the engineering and technology activities for the Implants manufacturing site in Jacksonville. The role also actively contributes to Implant Platform Engineering initiatives.
The Senior Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to the Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering organization. Accountable for developing and deploying engineering strategies and technologies that support Implant products for intraocular lenses.
Senior Manger combines strategic vision with a hands-on approach to manufacturing and supply chain engineering. The role is a member of the Jacksonville Implant Site Leadership Team and the Global Implant Platform Engineering Leadership Team.
Key duties & responsibilities:
Innovation and Technology Management- Develop and maintain a pipeline of manufacturing strategies and technologies that improve product quality, manufacturing cost, and operational efficiency for new and existing products.
- Evaluate the strategic rationale, investment requirements, development timing and expected return on investment for engineering projects.
- Establish and govern a manufacturing equipment asset management program covering the full asset life cycle, from specification through obsolescence, while balancing technological capability.
- Apply recognized operational excellence methods, including Lean and Six Sigma, to improve throughput, yield, reliability, availability, operational safety, and total cost of ownership of manufacturing equipment and production operating technology (OT) systems.
- Own and lead site engineering technology roadmap that enable transformational process development.
- Build and sustain a quality-focused culture and ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and applicable Quality System requirements as defined in the Quality Manual.
- Champion machine, electrical and behavioral safety across the engineering organization.
- Responsible for capital long-range financial planning and reporting status and health of the site capital plan to stakeholders.
- Accountable for site engineering projects execution.
- Define, monitor, and achieve engineering performance metrics, with effective plans in place to drive continuous improvement.
- Sustain a strong sense of purpose and accountability within the engineering organization.
- Act as a Credo leader and constructively challenge existing paradigms to deliver breakthrough improvements aligned with the strategic business plan.

- Develop robust technical business cases and translate approved strategies into clear execution plans and measurable outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Science, or a related subject area.
- Minimum of eight years of relevant business experience, including at least five years in a life sciences industry such as medical devices, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience in conceptual manufacturing equipment and process development, design and implementation, project planning and scheduling, and management of capital projects.
- Experience with leadership of multifunctional engineering teams in an FDA-regulated or comparable regulated environment,
- Proven experience developing business cases in a technical environment and delivering significant, measurable industrial improvements.
- Solid understanding of process development and validation, design of experiments, statistical analysis, and equipment maintenance.
- Strategic leadership capability combined with a flexible, hands-on working style.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills across functions, sites, and organizational levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
