Job Description

Covista is a national leader in post-secondary education and leading provider of professional talent to the healthcare industry. You will be a key technology leader for 300,000+ students and 10,000 employees, across 5 institutions and 27 campus locations. As the Senior Manager, Information Technology, you will be responsible for overseeing the IT department and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our technology landscape. The Senior manager will lead a team of IT professionals, manage IT product lifecycle, manage projects, and provide strategic guidance to align our technology initiatives with the overall business goals. They are responsible for overseeing multiple teams, departments, or functions within an organization. This may include managing multiple projects, budgets, and resources across various areas of IT.

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned IT sub-function, ensuring the stability, security, and reliability of the technology stack, capability and/or product.
  • Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes to optimize IT operations.
  • Manage IT budgets, track expenses, and manage resource allocations.
  • Develop and manage the IT department's budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives and operational needs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate vendor contracts, and evaluate the effectiveness of IT investments.
  • Optimize resource utilization, including staffing, outsourcing, and vendor management.
  • Financial leadership: Understands the organization’s financial processes. Prepares, justifies and administers her/his budget. Oversees procurement and contracting to achieve desired results. Monitors expenditures and uses cost benefit thinking to (re)set priorities. Focuses on value creation for Covista – this includes IT centric cost management and business results. Drives a fiscal disciplined behavior in her/his organization. Thinks long term and short term while managing finance and value creation.
  • Technical leadership: Demonstrates breadth and depth of professional/technical skills and capabilities required for position; shares knowledge; sets or contributes to the organization's direction within an area of expertise. Leads to drive value for Covista through technology. Influences with fluency on technology related change.
  • Develop and implement a strategic technology and/or IT operational roadmap aligned with the organization's business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Provide recommendations on technology investments, upgrades, and enhancements to support business growth and efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of security threats and implement measures to safeguard data and systems.
  • Strategic Leadership: They collaborate with executive management and other senior leaders to align IT initiatives with business objectives. Demonstrates the process of using well considered tactics to establish/communicate a vision for an organization or one of its parts. Fluently thinks between needs for today, while planning for the near and far future. Understand the competitive landscape, industry directions. Aligns with Covista IT & Digital strategy, builds their own game plan, communicates and delivers on the strategy.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and departments to understand their technology needs and align IT initiatives accordingly.
  • Communicate IT strategies, projects, and progress to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent industry experience Required.
  • Master's Degree Preferred.
  • Five (5) plus years Proven experience in IT management, including team leadership and project management. Across domains Required.
  • Five (5) plus years Demonstrated success in managing complex IT projects, overseeing larger teams, and dealing with higher-level strategic responsibilities. Required and
  • Five (5) plus years Experience in diverse areas of IT, such as infrastructure management, enterprise software implementation, cybersecurity, or digital transformation, may be required.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, products and software applications.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to IT operations and security.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, products and software applications.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,336.75 and $145,077.09. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
