Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Tax Operations, this position will be responsible for the oversight of worldwide GAAP income tax accounting and coordination of reporting and global income tax compliance matters.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities

  • Responsibility to manage all aspects of worldwide US GAAP income tax accounting and related reporting to include:
  • Manage the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740, including calculation of quarterly and annual effective tax rates, FIN 48 calculations, deferred tax accounts and valuation allowances, provision-to-return adjustments, etc.
  • Review all tax-related SEC disclosures for the Company’s 10-Q and 10-K
  • Assist with all intercompany processes from forecast, through the tax provision to tax reporting and tax audits
  • Oversee management of key controls and related compliance under SOX 404
  • Review the ASC 718 stock compensation process
  • Review all technical memos on matters related to tax accounting
  • Utilize our co-source partner, RSM, as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement of the global tax provision and tax return processes including the administration of the department’s tax provision software
  • Responsibility to coordinate the global income tax compliance process, including:
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all global income tax returns (including estimates and extensions) in conjunction with regional teams and third-party service providers 
  • Collaborate with Tax Counsel on global income tax audits, ensuring adequate and appropriate documentation is collected and retained
  • Manage resources, including external firms, to guarantee budget alignment and timely completion of projects
  • Tax research and planning required for compliance
  • Drive procedure and process improvements through the use of technology
  • Manage direct reports, including technical skill development, career development and performance management
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships by communicating with various departments and individuals within the organization to gain a solid understanding of the business operations and functions and their impact on tax

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills, including proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and direct reports
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws, including U.S. international taxation
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment understanding that priorities can change in a very dynamic manner
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial concepts
  • Ability to coordinate a team and succeed in delivering highly visible work product under strict deadlines 
  • Willingness to learn new skills/concepts and be challenged
  • Bachelor's degree in an accounting or finance discipline
  • CPA, highly preferred.
  • Must have 8+ years’ experience with a "Big 4" or large corporation; combination of education and experience will be considered
  • MST / MBT, preferred.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is:

 133,000.00 - 166,000.00 - 199,000.00 USD Annual
