About your team
The WI team as a whole are responsible for ensuring we provide exemplary client service, becoming a trusted partner for our clients during their periods of change.
The WI - Project Management Team look after projects for WI clients (Trustees and Scheme Sponsors). The team is split into three sub-teams with a Team Leader managing day-to-day operation and management of each team. These teams are then responsible for the end-to-end project management, including admin and governance tasks and the purpose of the team is to be the single point of contact for the client during a project and support any change management queries.
About your role
- Leading, mentoring, training and motivating PM team members
- In addition to managing a team who will be delivering client projects, this individual will be responsible for the project management of client and/or bulk projects
- Stakeholder management and engagement - working with clients, senior leadership and junior colleagues
- Auditing and ensuring the team members are on track with the workload and are following the agreed ways of working (regarding project artefacts and processes)
The role is to lead a team of Project Managers within WI Project Management. We are looking for a senior candidate with strong experience in team leadership, as well as the capabilities and credibility to expertly manage escalations as/if they arise. Experience of Workplace Investing is highly desirable but not required.
Business engagement is a key part of this role and you will be required to work with multiple business stakeholders - both internal and external. Excellent communication, organization and stakeholder management skills are key to success and therefore are essential.
The right candidate will also be pro-active in determining any other needs or concerns of the client and any requirements necessary to improve the effectiveness of the WI Project Team, using their industry knowledge and experience to seek continuous improvement in client service.
Finally, the successful candidate will also be responsible for delivery of projects for clients, both in the capacity of Lead/sole Project Manager and as a supporting Project Manager for other team members.

- Demonstrable project management experience and certification - PRINCE 2/equivalent
- Team leadership / management experience ideally in the Pensions / Investment Management industry
- Strong problem-solving and escalation / resolution management
- High attention to detail and understanding of the importance of project governance
- Ability to work at pace and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of investment and retirement market - Experience in Defined Contributions/Final Salary operations administration & implementation is highly desirable
