About This Opportunity

The Senior Manager, ICT Vendors and Contracts is a pivotal leadership role within Information Technology Services, responsible for shaping how UQ manages its strategic ICT suppliers and enterprise agreements. Operating within a diverse and highly collaborative IT environment, you will lead best-practice contract and supplier management across the ICT portfolio, ensuring value for money, service quality, and risk optimisation. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and technical experts across networking, enterprise applications, infrastructure, and digital services to embed a consistent, high-performing contract and supplier management framework that supports UQ’s purpose of creating change together.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the management of strategic ICT vendors and contracts, ensuring service performance, cost effectiveness, and effective risk management across enterprise solutions

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the ICT Contract and Supplier Management Framework, embedding capability across the University

  • Provide high-level advice to the CIO and senior stakeholders on commercial, contractual, and supplier management matters

  • Lead complex supplier negotiations and contract reviews to deliver improved commercial outcomes and strengthen supplier partnerships

**As part of the remuneration for this position, your total package may include an annual market loading in addition to the base salary. This will increase your overall remuneration, depending on your skills and experience and will be discussed during the interview process.

About You
  • Postgraduate qualifications in IT, business, law or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Extensive experience in ICT vendor and contract management, including enterprise SaaS and managed services agreements within large, complex organisations

  • Strong expertise in commercial negotiation, contract lifecycle management, and supplier performance management

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide strategic advice in a complex governance environment

  • Demonstrated experience developing frameworks, processes, and capability uplift initiatives in contract and supplier management

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present and reconcile diverse perspectives

  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing staff to build organisational capability

  • A proactive, analytical mindset with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes
