The Opportunity:

AIA Australia is currently hiring a Senior Manager/Head of Technology Risk to oversee our organisational technology risk and other related activities including AI, cyber, third party and data risks. Within this role the successful candidate will provide advice, as well as review and challenge the Business, particularly the Technology team, in relation to the development, management and implementation of effective technology risk frameworks. This role is pivotal in identifying, assessing and mitigating Technology Risks that could impact AIA Australia.

The successful candidate would be responsible for:

  • Providing expert guidance and oversight of Technology risks (including cyber, data, AI and third party), Technology operations, practices and procedures to ensure that they are implemented according to the risk management frameworks and approved by respective Boards
  • Liaison with regulators and provide responses to regulatory enquiries within portfolio responsibilities
  • Supporting the GM Risk in the internal and external Risk and Compliance reporting processes which supports an ongoing evaluation of the entitys risk profile
  • Providing insight, oversight and challenge to the Technology business unit; including the influence and impacts of IT strategies, operations and projects across all AU business areas
  • Act as delegate for GM Risk where required; including, but not limited to, Risk forums and Steering/Governance Committees at either a local or Group level
  • The monitoring of current and emerging Technology risk trends relevant to the Australian business 

To be successful in this position, you will:

  • Demonstrate significant experience in Technology, Data Protection, Data Privacy and/or Strategic Risk related role (Including cyber, data, AI and third-party risks)
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, influencing and engagement skills
  • Be able to work with and across the team and business at all levels
  • Possess a high level of self-awareness and commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Be able to adapt your working style to a fast-paced work environment, managing multiple stakeholder priorities and manage demanding workloads
  • Demonstrable a strong understanding of core regulations
  • Possess relevant tertiary, risk or related professional qualifications

Skills Required

  • Significant experience in Technology, Data Protection, Data Privacy or Strategic Risk (including cyber, data, AI and third-party risks)
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work across teams and with senior stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to adapt to fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities and demanding workloads
  • Demonstrable strong understanding of core regulations
