Job Description

TOMRA Group IT supports TOMRA’s global operations through secure, reliable, and innovative technology services that drive efficiency, growth, and digital transformation.

TOMRA Group IT is searching for a new Senior Manager, Head of IT Application Services, a high‑level leadership role responsible for driving the development, governance, and delivery of TOMRA’s application landscape across the global organization.

We are looking for a leader with deep experience in IT delivery, project management, and service coordination, combined with a strong ability to drive execution across complex, cross‑functional environments. The role works closely with Group IT leaders and senior business stakeholders to ensure TOMRA’s applications support business goals, digital acceleration, and long‑term value creation.

Success in this role requires a leader who can unite business needs with IT capabilities, translate strategy into tangible outcomes, and build strong relationships across divisions, functions, and regions. The role is accountable for application service delivery, project coordination, and ensuring smooth handover of implemented solutions to business divisions and IT Infrastructure Services.

This role is based at the global TOMRA HQ in Asker and reports directly to the SVP Head of Group IT.

Key responsibilities

Strategy & Stakeholder Management

  • Translate TOMRA’s business and Group IT strategy into a clear Application Services roadmap.
  • Build strong relationships across Business Divisions, Group Functions, and Group IT to align priorities and ensure coordinated execution.
  • Navigate build vs. buy decisions and balance business ambitions with available resources.

Project & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate application‑related projects and initiatives across TOMRA.
  • Ensure clear scope, ownership, timelines, and alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Bridge project delivery, application ownership, and operational readiness to secure smooth handovers.

Policies, Governance & Performance

  • Implement and promote Group IT Application Services policies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Ensure consistent use of standards and define KPIs to measure performance and progress.

Finance & Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage the Application Services budget in alignment with Group IT Management.
  • Oversee external spend, contracts, and adherence to TOMRA and Group IT procurement standards.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing global Application Services team.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and execution‑focused culture.
  • Conduct regular performance and development reviews and demonstrate leadership through actions - “walk the talk.”

Qualifications

Technical & Professional Background

  • Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in IT delivery, project management, and large‑scale transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to drive execution in complex, international environments.
  • Experience with system proofs of concept (e.g., CRM, finance, accounting platforms).
  • Strong understanding of operational models, sourcing strategies, and workflow optimization.
  • Knowledge of privacy standards and GDPR.
