The Opportunity
As the Senior Manager of Hardware Products, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the success of our hardware and service offerings. You’ll lead a dynamic team responsible for productizing and managing key components of our portfolio, including Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE), Battery Energy Storage, and accessories as part of our InCharge offering.
Your mission will be to create innovative, customer-centric solutions that meet market demands and drive growth by curating the hardware product portfolio across multiple vendors. This includes gathering Voice of Customer (VoC), defining product requirements, building business cases, running RFPs (in conjunction with Supply Chain), and managing product launches.
This role also ensures that hardware products are integrated into our service organization and enhanced by InControl. The team will maintain the product roadmap to ensure our offerings stay competitive and aligned with evolving customer needs. You will help translate EVSE functions into business-relevant documentation and support go-to-market efforts through collaboration with Product Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Engineering.
This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
What You’ll Do
Be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for:
- Defining product use cases and analyzing requirements to support them
- Calculating business cases and supporting Go/No-Go decisions based on functional and commercial evaluation criteria
- Managing product requirements throughout the lifecycle to ensure cohesive EV Charging Solutions are developed
- Supporting both ongoing and new initiatives with documentation and requirement development
- Collaborating with internal teams and business partners to develop strategy and drive project execution
- Planning, organizing, and monitoring requirement specifications
- Working with Engineering, Software Development, and Product Marketing teams to implement solutions and validate results
Collaborate With:
- Software Product Management and Product Engineering teams to define features, test cases, and documentation
- Product Marketing, Sales, and Operations to gather VoC, develop requirements, provide training, and produce supporting documentation
Report & Escalate:
- Weekly progress reports on product development and launch timelines
- Escalation of technical issues or process hurdles with detailed descriptions and recommendations for resolution
Your Experience & Capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in hardware product management or adjacent fields (R&D, technical business development), preferably in energy or cleantech
- Strong understanding of EVSE, Battery Energy Storage, and associated technologies
- Proven leadership ability and experience guiding cross-functional teams
- Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for quality and customer-focused product delivery
- Experience launching technology products in fast-paced environments
- Highly adaptable and service-oriented mindset with a “do what it takes” approach
