As the Senior Manager, Growth Marketing Operations at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, your role combines the key responsibilities of marketing, strategic planning and business operations with a focus on subscription growth. You will be at the forefront of overseeing organizational and campaign planning and execution to meet our growth objectives and improve team collaboration. This position will enhance operational efficiency, support data-driven decision-making and establish and maintain the tools and systems to support full-funnel growth outcomes. In this dynamic position, you will track and guide growth marketing initiatives, including agile testing programs, integrated planning processes and our growth roadmap. You will be instrumental in driving projects that support our growth goals, focusing on operational excellence, team leadership and cross-functional collaboration. This role offers a significant opportunity to shape growth marketing at the AJC, leveraging your skills to advance the AJC's mission and vision through influential and transformative marketing operations.
Day-to-Day:
• Develop and instrument key processes for the growth marketing department to achieve ambitious subscription growth.
• Lead our strategic planning processes (OKRs), maintain alignment and collaborate with operational leads across the organization in building company-wide roadmaps.
• Own the integrated campaign planning calendar and organize briefings, workback schedules and creative processes to ensure on-time launches.
• Support Head of Growth Marketing and managers in building a high-performing, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operational Excellence: Manage the day-to-day operations of the growth marketing department, ensuring efficient workflow, resource allocation, and project management.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics and data insights for strategy formulation and to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting based on performance metrics and market trends.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive growth marketing messaging and strategy. Represent AJC in various forums to establish and maintain key relationships.
• Innovation and Adaptability: Keep updated with the latest trends in growth marketing and digital technologies, project management and automation tools and implement innovative solutions to enhance marketing efforts and collaboration.
• Budget Management: Aid team leadership to develop and oversee the budget, ensuring resource efficiency and maximizing ROI.
• Marketing Systems and Strategy Oversight: Manage and enhance our marketing systems architecture to ensure integration of insights between our internal teams and agency partners.
• Marketing Technology Roadmap Leadership: Support the vision for our marketing technology, including tech stack and automation capabilities by compiling requirements and aiding in scoping and procurement process.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with various teams (creative, legal, product, finance) to align priorities, refine roadmaps and ensure campaigns launch on time and meet objectives.
• Annual Marketing Planning Participation: Engage in annual marketing planning and align goals with budgeting.
Requirements:

  • Proven experience in operational leadership and growth marketing
  • 6+ years of experience in marketing operations, campaign planning or project management with a proven track record in developing and executing growth marketing strategies AND 1 year experience in a management or lead type role OR (MS + 4 years of experience; Ph.D. + 1 year of experience or 10+ years with no formal degree)
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and marketing automation tools.
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to see bigger picture while operating in the details, to solve problems and to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in project management tools (Monday.com)


USD 97,100.00 - 161,800.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
